  • [Question] Should Tron have a place in Tomorrowland?

just thinking with the release of "Tron Legacy" coming up should there be a Tron themed attraction in the parks?

In My Opinion the stylized tech of the films fits well within the theme but I don't know of a good way to implement the films story into a ride. what do you guys think

Although I'm not a fan of the original film (awaits the horrified gasps) I can definitely "see" it within Tomorrowland's gates. I did always enjoy the Tron segment during the PeopleMover.

The answer is yes. It should. How big or how small, I can't really answer that. Depends on how well it's executed.

My vote is yes, because Tomorrowland needs a reboot and a kick in the rear.

Plus, even if the movie isn't that good, all they need to do is make the new ride look and sound as awesome as the newest trailer, and they'd be all set.

I vote yes. Big or small, there does need to be something Tron related in TL.

YES! So far, a lot of tomorrow feels like stuff from yesterland since it doesn't feel very futuristic anymore lol

Re: Should Tron have a place in Tomorrowland?

I've always wanted some sort of Tron ride like the light cycles to be built onto the old Peoplemover platform. They could completely enclose the track and project various light cycle scenes and scenery while you ride on a moving light cycle platform or car.

Tron needs to be in Manana-land!!!!

Tron HAD a place in Tomorrowland. They removed it.

I'd be happy with a TRON photo op! If they made it look like we were racing in the light cycles. But not a photoshop photo-op... the real lit up deal.

I wouldn't have a problem with Tron. I think if they were to try and recreate the visual style of the modern computer world shown in the Tron Legacy Trailers, tomorrowland would look awesome.

The in-computer parts of Tron have the advantage of looking futuristic but not in a way which would become quickly dated in Tomorrowland. That's been a problem in the past with attractions like Mission to the Moon Mars.

They can at least make the upstairs of the Starcade a throwback to the 80s arcade. I think that would be fun to play some "Reagan-era" video games again. I know this is "tomorrowland" but if they're gonna have an arcade, do something you can't do just anywhere.

As long as they don't make the peoplemover tracks or the Tomorrowland Tranist Authority the Tron Bikes I will be happy, I don't mind a Tron style peoplemover, but keep it a peoplemover I can see them trying to do another Rocket Rods like attraction trying to use the Tron Bikes (trying to go too fast for a slow track)

Visit me at taylorabaird.com and look for the Disney DIY section... (Remnants of the old Disney Imaginations blog, which mysteriously disappeared...)

They should get rid of Starcade (stupid name) and rename it FLYNN'S!!!
