  • [Chat] Disneyland Bucket List

My family and I are moving to Salem, Oregon this June. I have been a SoCal resident for my entire life and have grown up visiting Disneyland multiple times a year for 27 years. This will be the first time I will not be within 90 minutes of the park in my entire life, save the year I studied abroad in France in college. In our last couple of months I want to get the most out of the parks as possible. My side of the family lives in San Diego so we'll definitely be back a couple of times a year to visit and will certainly visit DL while we're here, but I want to create a kind of bucket list of things to do with my family before we leave and while we're APs. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to convince my husband to start doling out the money for tours and expensive meals but I need some ideas for important memory makers. We're headed to the park in Tuesday (4/20) for the Food and Wine Festival in DCA and I have some ideas for my bucket list already.

Family picture with the Ca letters
    Watch Aladdin one last time
Stake out a claim on the perfect fireworks spot and film them
    Visit Mickey and Minnie's houses
Get pictures with all the classic places (castle, partners, mickey floral, small world)

Thats all I have right now. I think we might take 3 trips before we leave. What else should we do? Thanks!

    Re: Disneyland Bucket List

Ride on a Steam Train tender (right behind the Engineer and Fireman)
    Ride in the Lilly Belle
Ride in the Nose cone and Rear cone of the Monorails
    Use the Secret bathroom
Do the Thunder Mountain Goat Trick

Try and get on every ride when it breaks down to see the inside of attractions. Drive a Jungle boat
Ride in the Cab of a parking lot tram
Drive your car on property back stage
Take a ride with Tink during the fireworks
    Scale the Matterhorn
Surf on the front of an Indy vehicle
Ride in the Loco on Thunder

The first 5 are doable the last 8 are a little bit trickier... but hey it’s a bucket list right? Hahahahahaha

Yes the infamous Goat Trick!!! When you are cresting the second lift stare at the Goat chewing dynamite all the way around the turn. If you do that you will have a psychedelic trip the likes of which none have seen.

Get to be the President of the Disneyland resort for a day (So that means never going into the park, losing touch with the parks themselves, Listening to pencil pushing bean counters instead of using common sense, Relax in your luxurious fourth floor corner office with a view, drive your brand new Cadillac company car, spit on the blue collar workers and crush moral and finally take home a huge salary for doing nothing.)

Ride the Tea cups as many times as you can in 1 hour.
Try both load positions on Tower of Terror and see what the differences are.
Learn how to draw a Disney character in the Animation building.
Try and do every "Attraction" in both parks. (You'd be surprised at how many attractions there are that you would have never guessed.)

Works for us every time. By the time you get to the end of that steep curve while looking at the goat, your stomach falls right through the bottom of the train.

At least for my kids and I...
