Go to the tracker, or research it a little bit. Its going to be the most expensive E ticket ever built so it will be just a tad more then what you currently see. Its completion date will not be until 2012 so it has a lot more work to be done on it.

Well, the Luigi's Roamin' Tires is based on the old Flying Saucers. That was an E-Ticket. I know times have changed but haha.. .if we're going based on that, that's two e-tickets in the land.

The track that you see in the Dateline Disneyland updates or the DCA project tracker represents only a portion of the ride. There is a temporary track at the eastern edge of the current setup that connects the two permanent straight pieces together. The reason for this is so the ride vehicles can begin testing as soon as possible without the need for the rest of the full track to be completed. This is most likely because TDA does not want to see the same delays that Test Track had and wants to get an early jump on vehicle testing.

In regards to speed the ride should be the same as Test Track by design however experience-wise it will undoubtebly have a much lower top speed due to the lack of space to build longer straightaways and wider turns.

Does anyone know what the top speed will be?

I heard somewhere that Test Track was originally sponsored by Mercedes Benz and Disney wanted the cars to go 90mph. Merecedes thought that was irresponsible and pulled out. GM came in.. and Disney again wanted the cars to go 90mph. GM said the same thing and didn't want their cars going over the speed limit of 65. Disney relented and that's why the cars never even reach 65mph.

Anyone else heard this? I wonder if... with Radiator Springs having no corporate car sponsorship, if they can push the top speed on that thing.

The topspeed or RSR is estimated to go about 35-40 mph. There is no real straight shot for speed, only the launch, but even that is only a fraction of Test Track's launch. Only bunny hops and banks.

I really hope it goes faster then 40mph, that will not feel like a race at all instead a nice stroll in the desert

However this ride will have some pretty steep banked turns that should make most of us forget about our top-speed woes.

What I really think would spice up the ride is if the back end of the vehicles would simulate loss of traction (a.k.a. "drifting" or "powersliding"). This, along with some precise turn-in acceleration programming could really make this attraction twice as thrilling as Test Track.

Having it themed to a real environment already makes it twice as thrilling as Test Track! (to me anyway)

I agree, but I'm reserving my judgement of the immersiveness of the attraction's theme until 99.9% of that attraction is finished. Just because the ride looks one way in concept doesn't mean that Disney won't go all cheapo at the last minute.

sigh.. so true. Radiator Springs Racers has a lot riding on it I guess. It'll be the biggest ride in Disneyland since 1995's Indiana Jones Adventure. Since 1995, many of us have griped that Disney has completely lost their creative touch. And though this ride is based on a cartoon, this has the power to surprise everyone dead in their tracks, or allow more concern regarding the company.

Im sorry but without this thing going over 45-50mph i dont know how i feel about it. Also drifting would be cool...
