Not sure why the WDW sites have picked up on this and nothing has been mentioned here yet.. According to WDWNT, they're testing this new type of meet and greet at DL.

edit - These videos were taken at Disneyland in California. That's where they're testing this

I have to disagree... while it was a little creepy at first it grew on me really fast. It's really kind of amazing. As a kid I'd just be in shock that Mickey knew my name. As an adult I'm trying to figure out how it's done but at the same time just awe struck by it

          Creepy? yes.
But I've been talking about how they should do this for ages.
It only seemed like the next logical step in meet and greet characters.
          But here's a question...
          HOW?!?!!

Do they just have someone behind the scenes who has mastered the Mickey voice talking, like Turtle Talk with Crush? Or have they invented some insane voice-changer?
If the latter, I want said device haha.

            Hummanahummanahummanahummanahummanahummanahummana. ..

            THAT'S AMAZING!

            What the-? How the-? Who...?

I love it. I don't care if anyone think's it's creepy. For me, it's a lot less creepy (and a lot more sense-making) than having a character simply stare into your soul with that unchanging smile.

This is what meeting the characters should be all about. I think Walt would be thrilled with this.

Before watching the video I thought " Oh this is going to be SUPER creeepy... o_o. "... but after watching the videos I'm like. Woah. That's awesome! . Hopefully the days of the silent meet & greets are coming to a close .

My theory for how this was done is that the cast member is probably using a Voice Generator inside of the suit or its being played from a speak er in the costume? ( and being generated in a computer near the room. )

Yeah it's a little weird but I also kind of like it. I wonder if they will do it with the others like. Goofy,Chip,Tigger,Queen of Hearts and others.

OMG! I wish they had these when I was younger. I remember I asked my mom why Minnie didn't talk. She had a sore throat.

I think the next time I'm at Disney I think I will stop by Mickey's house to see if I get him. Did anyone else notes he has on a different outfit. I wonder if that is his summer look or what?

Simply amazing! I can't stop gushing over how awesome this would be if all fuzzies had an animated face like this.

THIS Is so COOL! I've been wanting this to be done for ever...well not for me but for my little bro and my cousin cause they always have to question EVERYTHING at Disneyland like those can't be the real Mickey and Minnie cause they can't talk" or "you can tell it's just a mask his mouth doesn't move." this will scare them and please me. haha.

We were in Mickey's house today...we had Sorceror Mickey and he was definitely not talking.
