  • [Other] Earthquake at Disneyland 7-7-10

There was just an earthquake, the rides are shut down and everything again, the network is slow so it's difficult to post.

          It's being reported as a 5.9. That's a pretty strong trembler.

            Between Escondido and Salton Sea.
I think it's on the San Andreas Fault line, or very close to it.

Looks like it was near the San Jacinto fault, one of the two branches of the extreme southern San Andreas. Same area there has been a minor swarm going, near Borrego springs. Preliminary magnitude is 5.4, occurred about 4:53 PDT.

I was driving so I didn't feel it.

I prefer this location for "the big one." Way over, say, Northridge.

Yeah, I definitely felt it. I'm not at the resort now, but I'm nearby, and I think I'll be swinging over there for a few hours this evening, so it'll be interesting to see how everything's going. Hope there were no injuries or anything...luckily, I don't think it was really strong enough up here for that.

We got a good ride here in Murrieta but no damage for us. We hope all is well for everyone and no one was hurt.

Glad this happened today when I'm back at work, we felt it here in Hollywood. I spent 2 days at Disneyland with my family from out of state on Monday and Tuesday.

I live across the bay from San Francisco, so would I have felt it?
