  • [Fun] I Love Me Some Audio-Animatronics!

This could really go in any theme park forum, but I just decided to post it here.
I just wanted to say how much I prefer AAs to other means of conveying characters in attractions. I understand the complimentary additions of static and 2D figures, but I really love AAs.
I understand it's just the current fad, but I find myself becoming less and less of a fan of characters on screens and the need to see them with 3D glasses. That being said, I like TSMM. Contradictory, I know, but it seems appropriate for that ride. Plus, it has that super Mr. Potato Head AA!
So if you care to show your love for all things audio and animatronic, please feel free to do so here.

This is why i don’t like Winnie the Pooh (the character) he came in like a savage beast and ripped his way right into CC

That was pretty scary, lol. That was even more creepy of imagining AAs after the park closes in their dark attractions, silent and alone.
But I still love me some AAs, creepy though they may be.

AA's are definitely awesome! I also love it when Disneyland can work their magic on them really well.^^ One AA that I recently just LOVED SO much was Roz from the Monsters Inc. Ride in DCA. The interaction I had her a few times was so hilarious and amazing. It's one of those few things that I love AA's very very much!

That's so gross that you can see it's spinal cord inch: and I'm glad to hear that the original ones from disneyland are still alive and well (somewhat).

But yes, AAs are amazing. My favorite thing about Muppets are the AAs, especially the penguinsoda orchestra. They make the show that much more real. I wish that Muppetvision was made entirely up of AAs instead of the 3-D screen.

Buff's head was outside on a post by the TDA gate for a while. The Disney Archives grabbed the other set. The ones in Pooh were from the Mile Long Bar (and are not AAs).

Re: I Love Me Some Audio-Animatronics!

I have always been in awe of audio-animatronics. The craft and detail put into each and every one of them is pretty amazing. Even though I'll never own a costly Disney audio-animatronic, I have purchased two animatronics (Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers) from the Spirit Halloween store that comes around every Fall. Definitely more within my budget ($200 for both) instead of an arm, leg and possibly more, haha.

I am always intrigued by elaborate puppets, robots and of course audio-animatronics. If only I knew how to build them myself.

and dfan07, thanks for posting that video. I get all teary-eyed because I truly miss the Country Bear Jamboree. Melvin and the gang were so much fun to watch in action.
