I was just wondering, do you guys think any big names come onto this board and actually read what we have too say? For example like Tony Baxter?

I would imagine a handful might every once in a while. But at the same time, it can't be healthy. If you are a head basketball coach, you shouldn't read the section in the newspaper about your team. Don't let others dictate what you do. Do whats best in your mind.

        Big Mickey is watching you

But seriously, some do, just out of curiosity. Whether or not some are assigned to is a matter of debate.

            I'm here right?
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

I would think they do. That's how you get honest feedback about certain things regarding Disney. And maybe to rip off our ideas.....:ceek:

Disney reads this board, and probably every other fan board, every day. Multiple times in fact. I know for a fact the research staff from the Archives uses this board as a reference in their work. All you have to do is post a picture of something that makes them fall out of their chair, and they will find you...

Re: Do you think any BIG names come on to the boards?

Absolutely. We met so many important Disney folks at the D23 Expo who told us that they (and their senior management) read the boards and often post as well.

Disney is a big company and have a vested interest in making sure that they control the message about their products and services. 1) They want to know what we and others are saying about them and 2) they have lots of people posting here to spin things the way they want.

As long as they aren't breaking any rules here, that's fine with us. Each individual member of this site is fully able to sift through the info they read and decide what is true, what is false, and what is propaganda.

There are absolutely some very big names who read these boards. Some more often than others, but they definitely visit MiceChat.

One could easily assume that every professional with a heavy emotional investment in their business (not just this business but any business) reads the most relevant boards on the net at least part of the time, particularly in very specific or narrow fields where the conversation is easily followed. Wouldn't you be curious about what people are saying about your work in public? I would.

Executives who don't have an emotional investment or particular interest in their product (or consumers) still tend to keep tabs on talk through employees (or even whole divisions) who surf the net for them. Increasingly, major companies are finding the talk on the net important enough not just to monitor but to influence the conversation.

For example, did you know about DigiSynd? I just stumbled on this recently.

                        Digisynd

From their site: >>In the past few years, social networks have become the most popular channels for content consumption on the Internet. As the social media division of The Walt Disney Company, DigiSynd brings the trusted Disney presence to audiences in their native online environments.

We currently manage the real-time brand experiences of over 45 million fans in these spaces, defining their interactions through editorially-curated Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, YouTube channels, original video content, and custom gaming applications. At the end of the day, it's DigiSynd's goal to grow and nurture Disney's existence within these communities.<<

More from the site: >>STRATEGY Social media is based in dynamism and agility. DigiSynd constantly researches the ever-changing slew of tastemakers, memes, tools, and emerging technologies that color the online landscape. This broad knowledge base, coupled with our mandate to push the envelope, informs our strategic movements within these communities.<<

THAT is too general a statement. He has had some good projects, and recently did a great job with Lincoln. BUT, don't forget, Tomorrowland '98. Sure he wasn't totally responsible for that, BUT . . . .

I agree with this. I wasn't entirely sure about how much TDA was reading micechat until I was taking some shots for Dateline Disneyland and one of the managers in charge of the re-opening of jewel of Orleans asked about Al ands couple of the other members of micechat by their user names. I don't know how far up they are reading, but it's safe to say that micechat is being read quite a bit in TDA.

John Lasseter reads (or used to read) us. When I met him at the Sonoma Valley Film Festival he noticed my MiceChat button and remarked about it. Of course, he could have just said it to be nice....
