  • Disneyland in December or January

I am going to be able to spend 2 days at Disneyland between the dates of December 16th and January 9th. When would be the least crowded time? I understand that it will be packed around Christmas time. I have never been to Disneyland but I worked at Disney World for 6 months (College Program). I get to pick any 2 consecutive days. Any tips would be great!

As I understand it, it's pretty much crowded whenever you go right now.

Typically, tho, the weeks leading up to Christmas are pretty tame. I'd say your best days are right there at the beginning of your time frame--the 16th and 17th.

That should hopefully be early enough that you're beating the big time holiday rush. Then again, if you wait 'til the 19th and 20th you could hit the holiday crowds, but would be there on a Monday and Tuesday--which should be more laid back than Friday and Saturday.

I know that park is busy through the new year, but I don't know for how long afterwards. January 8th and 9th might be pretty decent days too--especially the 9th (being a Monday and well out of the holiday rush.)

This message is coming to you from Seattle, tho, so you probably shouldn't take my word for it and should wait for some of the locals to chime in (tho I was a local 10 years ago. Sigh. The good ol' days.)

I'd go the 16-17 of Dec., as most kids aren't out of school yet and there won't be any closures.

I think they take down the Nightmare stuff at the Haunted Mansion pretty soon after New Years, and also Small World shuts down to un-decorate, so I wouldn't wait too long after Jan. 1.
