  • [Chat] Ariel's Undersea Adventure, your expectations.

What do you expect from this ride? Do you think it will be like a typical Fantasyland ride...(god I hope not...I love em but DCA needs something GRAND), or do you think it will turn out more on the side of a Fantasyland/HM-PotC ride combo

I really have a high expectations for this ride, and I plan to be there on the 1st day of public operation.

Feel free to post multitudes of images here D

I'm with you, love the older FL rides, but I expect this baby to bring out the latest tech.

I don't think we'll see anything on the order of POTC or even HM, the detail, the size, the length, the intricacy...

TLM is going to be short, but should be packed with great AAs and color and light and sound. I think it's going to be a suped up FantasyLand-type ride. I have high expectations.

I hope it is on par with the current theme park technology. Maybe like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Expect it's underwater with Ariel and her friends.

I just hope that they use the kind of animatronics used on POTC, where all the characters are moving their limbs or at least have moving mouths and facial expression. I would look quite pathetic if the human/mermaid animatronics were just statues that tilt or turn from side-to-side as with the old-school dark rides (Peter Pan, Snow White, etc).

That sounds about like me. I don't think it'll become an instant favorite of mine or anything, but I'm expecting a short 'n' sweet adventure in the world of The Little Mermaid, intermediate in scope between a FL dark ride and HM.

Yes, I hope so too. Sophisticated state of the art audio animatronics are better than static old fashioned animatronics.

I am expecting a very detailed and immersive experience
like any well conceived dark ride could and should be.

However, not on the caliber of an E-Ticket that it is constantly being referred as.

Im going to be pretty disappointed if they have static AAs. Personally, I think this is going to be an awesome ride.

My eyeballs would be sad if they used static AA's
But seriously, if its any worse than Monster's Inc I will DIE on the inside.

The main tech in FJ is the Kuka Arm. The AAs in the ride are all pretty meh imho. The spiders look fake, the dementors are cool but they kinda just fly around. I guess if you count the Tree as an AA its cool.

Its kind of sad that Disney went ALL OUT on Pirates, they went pretty all out for the Haunted Mansion (but still not on the same caliber), and then from there the dark rides went dark on terms of grandeur

Well after watching this video, pretty high I'd say!

VERY highly detailed. This attraction will blow your socks off. No, it won't be on the scale of PoTC or HM, but who was expecting that? A solid D+ ticket for sure.

It will be more sophisticated and longer than the "Pint Sized" Fantasyland darkrides. But it is no way going to match the shear scale, size, and ride length of rides like PotC.

People expecting an E Ticket are surely going to be disappointed. I, on the other hand, am expecting a solid "D" .. but nothing more.

Dear Peoplemover Fans, If you want to see a new attraction that at least mimics the 1967 Peoplemover in a future Tomorrowland remodel, you need to write to the powers-that-be, and let them know. If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.
