Well, the "If money was no object..." thread inspired me, and although my wife and I are already going to be spending 7 days visiting our Disney cousin in Orlando in June, I decided to make a reservation at the Grand Californian in July for our anniversary - overlooking DCA, of course. Only one night, but we've been wanting to stay there since it opened. It'll be a nice surprise for her! Anyone want to give me their opinions of the hotel, if you've stayed there?

Cool surprise. Enjoy your anniversary.
Magnificent palace of a hotel. Be sure and enjoy a glass (or bottle) of your favorite libations in front of the fireplace in the main lobby late in the evening.
Even the room service is superb. Be sure and hit them up for a complimentary late check-out.
Again, enjoy...

I stayed there 3 nights back in Oct 2001. Really, really, really nice. I sat on the balcony one morning with a cup of hot chocolate, watching the maintenance guys run checks on GRR... Cold mist hanging in the air.... way cool.
Another night, on the way back to the hotel we stopped for cheesecake and a drink at the bar in the lobby, then sat watching the fire before heading up to sleep.
