  • Video The Wonderful World of Color Meet-Up: A Video Trip Report!

    Hello and welcome to my first Trip Report ever! I hope you enjoy it!

    I was one of the few lucky people at the World of Color Meet-Up at Disney California Adventure Park on August 26, 2010. Only 300 people were allowed to attend the event which was advertised on the Disney Parks Blog for only a few seconds before all the spots filled up.

    I recently purchased an iPhone 4 that shoots HD video, so I decided to use my new toy to share the experience with all of you. There were some amazing highlights from the event including never before seen footage and a question and answer session that yielded some very interesting insight into the creative process behind the show. I've done my best to recreate the format of the Meet-Up here for you.

    The Meet-Up event was followed by a complimentary viewing of World of Color, but unfortunately there were some technical issues. To start off the dome-projectors weren't working, but that's forgivable. The biggest and most noticeable issue, however, was the lack of fire during the Hellfire, Pirates, and Chernabog sequences. I'll try to post the videos of the show in the comments section soon, but I wanted to go ahead and get the trip report published now, so here come the videos!

    [ame=""]Part 1: Welcome: Heather Hurst Rivera[/ame]

    [ame=""]Video: World of Color Officially Opens[/ame]

    [ame=""]Part 2: Sayre Wiseman, Director, Show Production[/ame]

    [ame=""]Part 3: Never Before Seen Video: Abbey Road Sessions[/ame]

    [ame=""]Part 4: Steve Davison, VP, Parades and Spectaculars[/ame]

    [ame=""]Part 5: Original Show Animatic (Never Before Seen!)[/ame]

    [ame=""]Part 6: Mary Niven, VP, Disney California Adventure Park and Guest Services[/ame]

    [ame=""]Part 7: Question and Answer Session[/ame]

    I hope you enjoyed my first trip report!

    May your days be filled with magic!
