  • [Question] How to help a mom trying to take her last family Disneyland trip...?

    Hello all,

So, I have a friend whose mom, sadly, is not long for this earth. She has said that all she wants is to take a trip to Disneyland with her children. There would be 6-7 people going in total. They live locally in LA, but are looking to scrounge up the money to get park hopper tickets for about 3 adults and 3 or 4 kids so they can see Disneyland at Christmastime and also see World of Color.

Do any of you guys know if Disney has any kind of deals for groups like this? They say they'd just be happy for a one day trip to Disneyland, but if it is the mom's last trip, I feel they should make it a full vacation like with a stay at the hotel and at least a two day thing. I'm just trying to think of ways to help or some kind of deal or something that could make that happen. If I had the money I'd just pay for them myself, but alas, this is the life of a college student.

I'm not sure what to do, but I figured I'd see what the MiceChat community has to offer. Ideas? Suggestions? Donations? etc?

    Thanks.
Words any Disney fan and especially Disney employee should live by:

"Disneyland is a work of love. We didn't go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money."
    -Walt Disney

"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."
    -Walt Disney

"I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things."
    -Walt Disney

"We did it, Disneyland, in the knowledge that most of the people I talked to thought it would be a financial disaster - closed and forgotten within the first year."
    -Walt Disney

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."
    -Walt Disney

"I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."

I'm sorry to hear about your friends mom

I'd say one of the best things for them to do would to be to contact someone at the Disneyland Consumer Relations and talk to them about the situation. I've heard of them doing incredible things for people in the past, so it's definitely worth a shot. It's the magic of Disney

Hope they get to go on one last trip together :gladsad:

Basically this. And I hope it's not their last trip, my best wishes to them.

Perhaps Make a Wish could be contacted.

Make a Wish is a Foundation that grants wishes to children from ages 2 1/2 to 18, so I doubt they would be able to assist.

A Knowledgeable case worker at Make A Wish would probably have a idea on who to speak with in regards to assisting children of adults with a life threatening illness. Check the MakeAwish website and contact your local branch.

I'd check with Disney first. They would be crazy to not assist your family as their current promotion is about "Making Memories".

Have a great time. Man, I'd not that brave. My heart goes out to you all.
I am old. But still love Disneyland.
