  • [Idea] An idea for Silly Symphony Swings

Yes, I know the ride isn't even open yet, but I already have an idea for it.

Picture this: A large-screen plasma TV and some seats in front of it, near the entrance, showing on a continuous loop is the inspiration for the ride, "Mickey's Band Concert." Guests would have the option of seeing the cartoon before or after going on the ride. For sale nearby would be the cartoon on DVD or Blu-ray along with other Silly Symphony cartoons from the 30's.

They couldn't do this with other rides based on movies, because those features are more than an hour long. But "Mickey's Band Concert" is only seven minutes long.

There should be a sticky thread called "This Day in Disney History." The company has a long history and this would be a good way to acknowledge it. Walt was born 112 years ago; that's quite a chunk of American history and culture.

^the ride is open and I would be all 4 getting to watch the cartoon before the movie but I'm sure most others will say it classes with the new theme the Park is trying to take.
    Happy Halloween!!!

Perhaps they could put the TVs in the queue.

From what I know... It is open... Unless I have been dreaming the dozens of times that I have been on it...

"The Band Concert" is a Mickey Mouse short, not a Silly Symphony.

Okay, so I didn't know it was open. Still, do you think my idea is a good one?

We need no more gift shops in either park...

got my laugh for the night. Thanks everyone.

Good idea, but it's not really gonna work. Unless the tv's aren't blended into the theme (space mountain's tv's are at least inside the walls) it's not really Disney status, as it is more like Six Flags.

Sadly, I have to agree with no more gift shops.

As far as being played in the queue. Not sure.
People already have trouble keeping the line moving, not sure another distraction is what they need (although, it would give a source to the inspiration of the ride)

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

Now this is a great idea! On a side note: It's open..I debated throwing up on it or not.

Welcome to the turn of the century! We have large-screen plasmas!

Joking aside, it would be so much easier to have Cartoon posters with characters on the boardwalk level beneath.
