[Question] Approximately how many people have visited Disneyland?

My friends know that I am into Disney and asked me today how many people have visited the park since it opened? For once I did not know the answer to one of their Disney questions which surprised them. So does any know or have a best guess? I searched here and couldn't find anything. Thanks

Best I can find is around 515 million, but dont hold me to that as I can't vouch for accuracy, but several websites seem to be using this number.

Well, probably a huge difference in unique guests versus people who have entered through the gates in all. Take into consideration that AP holders count for a lot.

There are what, currently 1 million AP holders at the moment? If the overall count is 500 million+ , AP holders count for less overall foot traffic then you'd expect. The place is still at it's busiest during the summer months, when the crowds are mostly tourists.

Its kind of like asking how many jelly beans are in the jar...someone knows, just not us...
average 40,000 per day give or take (I have no real basis for this number) x 365 days = 14,600,000 per year x 55 years is 803,000,000 (eight hundred and three million) did I get the right amount of zeros? Its probably higher than that.

Isn't this information on a sign above the Mickey floral on the Main Street Station? I know it lists the elevation of Disneyland (a figure less than 100 feet if I recall) and it also lists the "population" at somewhere around 500,000,000 or some other insanely high figure.

Probably only about 200 million unique visitors.

One could try to assume number of repeat visitors by year. Say 50% of first years returning for second year, then dropping slowly to about 5% today.

If accurate, that means there are a lot of people NOT going to Disneyland. An opportunity for some, if there wasn't a strangling pricing policy in place.

If Disneyland had an AP program in 1955 then maybe. I would say 350-400 million unique visitors and the rest since the AP program started, are regulars.

I still envision a lot of repeat visitors. I know plenty of people who would go once a year prior to the AP explosion/disaster/crisis.

I've been told the population sign at main street is the approx number of guests who have visited, does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

I've seen photos from the past of this sign and the population number was smaller back then, so it seems plausible that its a rough estimate.

This link might be helpful. Scroll down until you see the chart under "Disneyland's Accumulating Attendance Figures" I don't know if this is totally accurate, but it's an interesting chart. I find it amazing that (if this is accurate) Disneyland reached it's first million guests in a couple of months and it's 5 millionth guest the next year.
