  • [Question] Question on the original Little Mermaid ride idea

The version of the Little Mermaid ride on the DVD is the version I'm referring to, and my question is, where was this ride originally going to be placed in the park? Like what space was it going to take up?

    Thanks.

I believe that concept was originally planned for Disneyland Paris. Once those plans fell through, the attraction was "put on a shelf" in WDI for years and a new version of a Little Mermaid attraction was finally designed and built here in DCA.

Cool, thanks! I was curious if Fantasyland here in California would have had a takeover of a few rides to build the attraction, but obviously not.

It was planned for Disneyland Paris, but when the park wasn't bringing in Profit they decided to set it aside. There were plans to bring that same ride to Hong Kong Disneyland in the planning stages of the park. There weren't any plans I know of to bring that version of the ride to the Disneyland Resort.
