Ok so who's been the rebel spy? :D

I was on my 2nd time on it. Too bad no photos allowed inside that would have been super cool to capture.

Nope, never have been the Rebel Spy. Ironically, I had two female Rebel spies rather than males during my two trips.

I've only ridden once, but I was the rebel spy!

Actually, they began chanting what ending they wanted very loudly, during the previous scene and then reacted when the final scene began. Ugh.
And this is how AP burnout begins.

Saturday the 11th I went on with several of my friends and they picked the friend whom most of us had never actually met before, we flew her in from Scotland... it made the gag all the better.

Ive rode it 4 times and the first and last time we were on the one all the way left and they put up a generic alien photo. I thought maybe the camera doesnt work on the one all the way to the left. Any one else think this?

^What? They cheaped out on the pre-flight DNA test? They definitely were planning to have G2-9T reach out and cut your finger for a blood sample, but no. I guess that was just too expensive. Well I tell you, those little features are what makes Disney Disney. When I go to Disneyland, I expect top-notch attention to detail. What's next? Replace the actors in Pirates of the Caribbean with animatronics?

    Sorry, I amuse myself sometimes.

The ride does not know whether it is a man or a woman. When the cm chooses the person's picture, they hit a button to let the system know whether it is a man or a woman. Not a very difficult system to implement.

Just wondering...how does this rebel spy thing work out? Do they take your picture before you get on the ride? I thought they took a picture of you in your seat or something...

When I went on Star Tours there was this olderish man who was behind my little sister and I in line. The entire time he didn't say one word...didn't smile...didn't laugh. When his picture came up everyone laughed and he just kind of sat there as if he was "too cool." It was just sort of funny...

I was the rebel spy the first time I rode it...I knew I was gonna love the ride but when that happened it made my love for it even stronger!!!

They caught me looking off to the side with a "don't bother me" trying to blend in type face so it made it even more awesome!

I was the rebel spy 4 times in a row on one of the AP preview days (May 29). I was with my boyfriend & another couple. They were jealous. Haha

Has anyone figured out when the picture is taken? I know where the cameras are, they're easily spotted in the overhead units (which resemble the air conditioning blower/reading light units on airplanes). Just wondering when they take them. My boyfriend was starting to get a little jealous/protective about it "4 times in a row! How does that happen? haha", so I kissed him after we sat down, and that time I wasn't the rebel spy. lol

The pre-flight video tells people that photography isn't allowed. I've been on at least one flight where a CM came on the intercom and told someone to stop fliming.

Someone already posted the basics. However, during the media event I was able to learn and watch the entire selection process. I also learned many other facts about the ride not widely known, even by many of the CMs, so I won't talk about some of those things.

As someone else mentioned, everyone on board could potentially be the spy.

The cameras supposedly will be upgraded in the future. A change in the cabin lighting was made, after the cameras had already been selected. As far as the image being off center, that sounds like someone was in a hurry.

I was the spy on my third ride, but then on my 4th ride I noticed the spy was in the same seat I was in on my last flight. 3rd row, like 4th or 5th seat from the left. Probably just a strange coincidence since others in this thread said they were in different rows/seats.
That make me think when I see the two camera main center point at some seat.
It hard to see what seat it was point at.
