  • [Question] What happened to the Indiana Jones Ride?

While riding the ride the other day I looked at the giant face in the main room with the flaming eye and there was no flaming eye. It looked like the whole eye and nose collapsed. Does anyone know what happened?

Yeah I rode it twice last week and quite a few effects were off, the biggest being no fire. It seems like the ride needs a good long refurb now.

Didn't you guys hear?? They've plussed the attraction: it is now called "Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Special Effects." The experience is incredibly interactive - the rider drives through and finds all the effects that are no longer functional. Whoever gets the highest total in the car wins.

        Yes, that is called themeing

It just seems like the eye fire is yet another effect in a long book of effects for IJA that are now dormant. Here's for hoping they do a major refurb to fix everything in the coming months.

It really sucks that this is so overdue for a rehab especially since it's sister Lucas ride Star Tours looks so good right now. Add that to the fact that the first film turns 30 this month and you really have a black eye for ride maintenance.

Thats what you get when you add so many mechanisms and effects in an attraction, they break. Judging from the sound of it, it's time to fix the effects.

Also the ride often stops, Not like little mermaid of course (thank god) lol. But totally wasn't the usual one stop deal.

Yeah, I have definitely noticed a couple flames miss the last few times. Totally takes away from the attraction some...

Also, the beginning, heading toward Mayra... that starry ceiling has only been gray with awkward shadows for quite a while now.

The attraction has been in rough shape for a while, effects and mechanical elements wise. Hopefully with people constantly saying so and the pretty consistent breakdowns at the park on a seeming daily basis, eventually management will wise up and close it for a while for fine-tuning and fixing.
