It always surprises me how few gates are used to get into DLR (and DCA for that matter). I think that it would help crowds if they had an AP only entrance, along with opening up more of the gates. I think even in the busiest months the most ever opened is 75%. Given the lines often do move rather quickly, but every once in a while you get stuck behind someone who has a million and one questions holding up the line. Just a pet peeve of mine, anyone else bugged by this too?

Re: AP gate entrance & open more gates
Universal Studios uses a AP only gate and it's great! Disneyland should have this. I hear they tried it, but people got confused an upset if they got in the wrong line. I say, if you can't read a sign I don't feel sorry for you, just get out of the way. haha. They also need a no bags line for the check point. Again, something Universal has. Not that that's a better park, but they are smarter in this area. If it's busy they need an AP line. Period.

Re: AP gate entrance & open more gates
I don't think they need a separate AP gate, things are pretty quick and usually adding something like that just adds more confusion.
Although, they need to implement a permanent "no bags" line at security, like they have at WDW.

Re: AP gate entrance & open more gates
No one's saying the APs couldn't use the regular line. I don't think anyone was implying that. I would just be a quicker alternative way of thinning the crowds if we wanted to use that option on busier days. It's much faster to scan us in than regular guests.

Re: AP gate entrance & open more gates
I think Disney knows what they're doing balancing labor costs (i.e., number of gates open) with ease-of-entry for their guests. I don't remember waiting more than a minute or two to get through the gate myself.

Re: AP gate entrance & open more gates
I think AP's should be brought into DL on slave-carrying chairs while other slaves shade them with palm fronds. Still other slaves will have grapes or other fresh fruit available to be put directly into the AP's mouths.

Of course, the "bag check" is a whole other topic altogether.

Y'know... this idea might have some merit.. what? sarcasm, what's that?
But having a few more gates open on summer weekends would not be a bad thing. They paid for the gates, might as well use em.

the lines can be much longer (20+minutes)
Here are the lines all the way back to near the CA entrance.

Re: AP gate entrance & open more gates
I've never waited more than a few minutes in line. I really don't see this as either necessary or beneficial enough to justify the headaches it might cause.
Anyone excluded from such a VIP line would be justifiably annoyed.
I also wonder if crowd control plays a part. Disney might be purposely controlling how quickly people are let into the park.My Micechat cruise trip report, Part 1:http://micechat.com/14795-disney-wonder/

Re: AP gate entrance & open more gates
I would love one but I have a feeling it would confuse so many people it wouldn't be worth it. I just wish people paid attention when they went through the gates. You know the simple stuff like having tickets ready. These are some of my favorite TRs I have posted
