• [Idea] Halloween Time Expansion

Hey all DM here again. With the summer season almost entering its last month, it's obvious that "A Soundsational Summer" will soon come to end. But then, plans for "Halloween Time" will soon come up not too long after then. For the most underrated seasonal time at DLR, I think that it's time that an expanded Halloween celebration be made. Here's some ideas for the parks.

Disneyland
-Halloween parade: "Disney's Parade of Screams," similar to the one of Mickey's Halloween Party
-Reopen the Halloween Screams fireworks show to the public
-Big Thunder Mountain Railroad enhancement: "Big Thunder Haunting", with wandering miners warning guests about the paranormal activity in the mountain
-Matterhorn Bobsleds enhancement: "Matterhorn Bobsleds-Legend of the Yeti" with PG-13 rated scenery, making the Yeti more threatening than ever
-Pirates of the Caribbean stunt show on the Columbia ship, stopping on the river similar to "Tiana's Showboat Jubilee"
-Small World enhancement: "it's a small world halloween"

Disney California Adventure
-Grizzly River Run enhancement: "Grizzly River Rage" at night, with enhanced sound effects and water effects
-Toy Story Midway Mania enhancement: "Toy Story Midway Madness" with enhanced Halloween attire
-"World of Color: Night of Fright" Halloween show featuring Disney villains and such
-A Tower of Terror projection show similar to Paris's grand opening show (below)
‪The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - Official Opening (Paris)‬‏ - YouTube

Both Parks
-New after-hours park evet to compete with Universal's Halloween Horror Nights: "Disney's Halloween Haunt," which will be available to teens instead of kids, who will do the Mickey's Halloween Party event instead. The event will consist of walk-around characters that will scare guests, with a layout similar to Universal's

So what do you guys think? Post comments and thoughts below!

The Pirates Stunt show would be cool and could be feasible is Fantasmic is cancelled during Halloween.

The most inexpensive and therefore most likely one that would happen would be the Halloween Version of TSMM. The only expense would be the creation of the next 3D sets and the ride testing to make sure everything works correctly. (They have already done something similar to include the TS3 characters)

IASW already has a Christmas overlay I doubt they would want to close it for 2 weeks to install the Halloween overlay then close it again for 2 weeks to install the Christmas overlay and then after Christmas close it for 2 weeks to remove the Christmas overlay. It would be closed for 6 weeks just to install/ uninstall overlays.

Like Bronco21 said, if F! was cancelled, the Pirates show would be very cool. Nice ideas!

Re: Halloween Time Expansion

I like most of your ideas but I dont think Disney will ever have anything like Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. Disney is too family oriented to do that. Same with the Matthorn idea.

I think some of your names are too scary aswell. Disney Worlds halloween parade is called 'The Boo to You Parade' which hardly strikes fear into you. Parade of Screams might be abit too graphic. Same with the WOC Night of Fright name.

But I do like the ideas of a Halloween World of Color and Toy Story Mania and Ill be surprised if they don't happen in the next 5 years.

Sorry I sound really harsh, I dont mean to

Re: Halloween Time Expansion

Disney has got it down to where they can transition from the summer season to Halloween with a minimum of cost and effort. Everything they roll out for Halloween, is bought and paid for so the money that is raked in is profit. Now there are some great suggestions in your list. You may see enhancements down the road but the kind of development work you are suggesting would be big bucks.

i think that since the old Pirate's Lair show was kind of cheap, but still entertaining, that it could be expanded, to keep up with the Pirates spirit

No Pirates, Walt is probably rolling in his grave because of the damage to the last ride he touched.

Good point! Disney caters more towards the younger crowd. Halloween is way more fun for a 5 year old who gets this one opportunity to get candy for free from strangers. To children it is amazing and magical, like Disneyland. Teens just think it's fun to have the pants scared off them. Disney cannot cater to both at the same time.

well, maybe they can just cancel Mickey's Halloween Party, and just bring that experience to the public, instead of an after hours party for kids or teens (as suggested above in my post)
