Are they still scrambling to try to have the fireworks shoot off the top of several buildings surrounding the Hub? I like the idea, but it seems like a logistical nightmare.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.
They should just give every guests as they enter the gate a color coded Roman candle and have them light it when told to in unison with other candle holders of the same color
A few years ago (I believe it was the night before the 45th Birthday) DL was testing spotlights throughout all of DL. There were just a handful of guests left in the park, and I was sitting at Christmas tree point. Looking directly at the Castle, spotlights fanned out from three points behind the castle. They all appeared to be synchronized, and the spotlights even changed colors. I noticed a couple rows of fold out chair that were in the street, directly in front of the Partners statue.
A couple times, spotlights were even turned on from behind the Emporium and from near Space Mt, as well as a couple other locations throughout DL.
All Groups of Spotlights seemed to be synchronized, and seemingly with the music playing on Main Street. It looked FANTASTIC! However, I'm surprised that I haven't seen anything like this again in DL. The closest thing has been the fireworks that fan out behind the castle. The nice thing about the spotlight was that they could leave them on, fan them in an out for an extended period of time, unlike fireworks which last for just a fleeting second. I certainly hope they would consider those spotlights, for areas that cannot accomodate fireworks
What a wonderful experience! Sounds like a workable optionthat would please even the Anaheim Fire Marshall.

They did this for reals on the 32nd Birthday. The spotlights did not change colors or twist around or anything, but there were all over the park and it was spectacular!
As for how they are going to handle the logistics of fireworks from many locations in Disneyland ... does anyone know how they are managing to successfully pull of the fireworks-in-the-round at DisneyWorld's Magic Kingdom?

Sounds like Fire Marshal hell to me. I have no idea how they would do this at Disneyland without having to close off big sections of the park.
MiceChat 101: Be NICE! If you don't play well with others, you are in the wrong sandbox.
Well, that's my point. They are doing it, now, at DisneyWorld. Are they shooting them off from outside their non-berm? If they are, that's a solution that obviously won't work for us.
yeah i hope the people around disneyland dont complain about the fireworks too much when they start back up again.......i know that they complained so much earlier........does anyone know what kind of soundtracks they have planned for the new fireworks??......i bet it will be one of our best firework spectaculars.......

Is this just a clone of WDWs Wishes fireworks show or is it going to be something new/better? Also is it true that they are changing the way tinker bell flies down from atop the castle?
I work for American Honda Motors, and today Disney is coming to make a big announcement about our sponsorship of the 50th fireworks. Matt Ouimet and a group of characters are going to be here ... I'm pretty excited. We all got trading pins with the castle and the Disneyland and Honda logos to commemorate our sponsorship. There is some concept art in the lobby of the fireworks and it shows Tink flying down from the Matterhorn. There's also concept art of the new parade, which looks awesome (especially the Alice in Wonderland float). I'll take some pictures with my camera and download them tonight.
Oh, it also looks like Honda will have a new exhibit in innoventions with ASIMO (he's a pretty cool robot who can walk upstairs and even backwards) and other Honda technologies. Honda will also be sponsoring Grad Nite in the spring.
What an exciting experience for you. I am looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Plans are for some type of pulley system that will allow Tink to "fly" back and forth, and more closely simulate the famed opening of 'Wonderful World of Color.' In line with this, I hope they return the Tinkerbell flight to the opening of the show ... I just loved it when she started the fireworks with a wave of her wand. Very dramatic.
If they do that, I'm moving my fireworks spot back to the "S" on the compass in front of the Castle .... It looks just like the tv show opening from there!
i personally would love to see anew fireworks show. i've heard about this new 50th show and i would like to see just a bigger, better show. hopefully, with a better soundtrack. dont get me wrong, i liked the believe... soundtrack, and i listen to it constantly on my old disneyland official album. thats what disneyland needs, a groundbreaking fireworks show. and a groundbreaking new soundtrack!
I find signatures are overrated. Except for this one.
Pictures are always good. I have acutally been looking for some concept art of the new parade(not the opening float but some of the others). Can't wait to see them.
