  • [Pictures] Vintage Pictures from Disneyland Each Day

I was thinking about how much I miss Disneyland of my youth, so thought that in this thread I would post a vintage picture of Disneyland each day, Except when I am at Disneyland next week, so I will post a few of them today. If you want to comment on them, or post your own please do. I would love to hear from others if this is somthing you miss, or glad it is gone.

These are all excellent! I especially liked seeing Jungle Cruise with a lack of big trees. It looks much better today.

(in a dull monotone, in his best Ben Stein imitation) Wasn't that great.
When I go to Disneyland, I tune my FRS Radio to channel 2, without a quiet code. They're faster than a cell phone and you can talk to a whole group at a time, and you don't have to get everyone's cell phone number in advance.

I like the picture of Main St. where everyone (but one) is using the sidewalks. You go there today and the fastest way to up and down Main St. is actually using the sidewalk as people clog up the street itself.

That is because it was thought of more as a street, and it had carriages and such moving on it, so if you did not walk in the street outside, why do so on main street USA. It really was a different time. Everyone used to dress up to go to the park as well, women and girls in dresses, and men and boys in nice slacks and Dress shirts.

Love the boyscouts manning the cannon on the Gullywhumper. That could have been me. Man, I miss those Keelboats. The best thing about them was that they were a "C" ticket and everything else on the river was a "D".

In context, they almost look like cavalry soldiers there.

I do miss that pirate ship from Fantasyland. it was the single best part of the old land before the refurb in 1983. Too bad what happened to it.

Sorry for the double post, but one of my earliest memorys of a Disney park is asking my Dad why we were walking on the road haha
