  • [Question] How long will Pirates be out of commission for refurbishment?

Just wondering if anyone has information on the time frame for Pirates refurbishment starting sometime in September. We're traveling from Hawaii in October and I'm trying to get more information. Thank you.

The offical website lists closures up to 24th October and sadly POTC features within that right up that point (and possibly beyond)

    Daily Calendar | Disneyland Resort
    WDW - 1987 & 1991
    DLP - 1996, 2004, 2006 & 2007
    DLR - October 2011

Thanks Nathan. I was hoping that it was a mistake. I guess I'll be a homeless pirate...lol. Hawaii has a large contingent of visitors during the first week of October (Fall school break). What's Disneyland without Pirates...such travesty...aarrrrggghhhh!!!

          • Haunted Mansion: Closed August 29 — September 15
          • Indiana Jones Adventure: Closed September 6 — 7
          • Pirates of the Caribbean and Blue Bayou Restaurant: Closed September 7 — November 23
          • California Screamin': Closed September 6 — October 14
These are planned closures listed in today's update. September 7 is the day all four are closed at the same time.

I feel bad for the CM's working City Hall on the 7th of September. I'm sure they will get lots of complaints... :-/

Also Blue Bayou will be closed the entire time POTC is.
              Disney bucket list:

              Go to Club 33
              Tour the Walt Disney Studios
              Work for Disney

That's quite a long refurb, they must be adding a loop.

Yeah, I was sorry to see that time schedule, too. I will be there around Oct 30 & 31. Just won't be the same without Pirates. Hope they put that 'ghostly warning' back in the dark tunnel!!!

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

I really wish they would restore the attraction back to its former purpose and stop using it as an advertisement.

Pirates will be down to install the all new holiday extravaganza, A Very Caribbean Christmas.

I hear the burning Christmas Tree scene will be stunningly convincing.
