  • Aladdin at the Hyperion

I recently saw the Aladdin show after not have seeing it for about 4 months. Now, I already knew that the genie's jokes are up to par with current events. But after seeing it again, it just made me appreciate the show that much more. Anybody else feel the same way about appreciating something else at the resort after a hiatus?

Saw it when it first opened. Then again just a couple of weeks ago. I HAD completely forgotten how much I enjoy that show! This time had VIP seating, so it was a real special treat!

That's one of the joys of going to the park by myself- I can see the Aladdin show. I know it's a fantastic show, and I always mean to see it again when I'm there but there always seems to be something else going on and then the park's closed.

Dang. That ran on. I love how the Genie ad-libs. I actually catch myself getting lost in the show and forgetting to look around. For a stagehand, that is rare. I'm *always* looking backwards and around.

the genie's jokes are the only thing I like about it. The other actors are not very..... good. Everytime I see it I wish I could have spent the time on
            Tower of Terror.

Genie should have a one man show. End of post.

Sit in the "box seats" on house right on the balcony if it is open. Perfect spot for understanding how the show is done from a technical standpoint. Even though they have black out curtians, you can still see people getting ready to go onstage, as well as seeing the people who stand behind the wall peices in the town scene. On another note: Has anybody else seen the show with the wonderful actress in the wheelchair? My god she is more fun to watch with her facial expressions then some of the other cast members! I love how the dress-up her chair to blend in with the scenery. Like the small curved flag for the Prince-Ali number with her leading the procession. And in the town scene with the many somethings reaching upwards. Anybody else see her?

                        dude.. totally bring back "BLAST!"

sorry, not really trying to hijack the thread.

Aladdin is a great show. I watch it about once a month. (With the Genie jokes, thats my only news source.)

I just went to California Adventure after not being able to go for two months! Getting to see all those classic adventures again like the Tower of Terror, Disney Animation, Muppet Vision 3D, Soarin' Over California, California Screamin', Maliboomer, Grizzly River Run, and Orange Stinger really makes me feel great. And finally getting to see the California Adventure Christmas tree with my own eyes; how gorgeous! I wonder what everyone is complaining about. It was great to be back. :ap:

Oh yeah, and I think the Aladdin show needs to go....

I saw Aladdin for the first time this month, and I must say that I was blown away. I was stunned by what I was seeing. It is a great show. I enjoyed it very much and really enjoyed the orchestra seating... Genie and Iago were wonderful!
