  • [Chat] Accepted into the Disney College Program!

It happened a few weeks ago, I just haven't found the time to come brag about it.

I'm a "local", it's for Spring 2012 and I was offered a position in Attractions. I don't know which Attraction(s) I'll be working but I really excited because I am finally getting my foot in the door. After I'm done with the program I can apply for a Professional Internship.(want to apply to WDI internships)

Anyways, is anyone else doing the CP for DLR?
Has anyone done it before? and worked in Attractions?

I did. It was the best experience ever. I'd still be down there, too, if my mom hadn't have got sick

I did the program Spring 2011 in Custodial and still work there, but now I'm in Attractions! Maybe I'll see you at the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage!

Do you get to choose which area of the parks you'd like to be in? Because if I did this, I'd probably want to be in hospitality.

No you don't. But when you apply, you apply for the role(s) you'd want the most. Obviously you'd pick ones having to do with Hospitality. Which I have no idea what the are at the top of my head.

Hospitality is the hotels and restaurants and such.

Congratulations! As soon as I get to college,I I am going to try for this as well, because, much like you and many others, I want to become an Imagineer as well. :P
All right, listen! I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice. Here comes the smolder.

Aww, congratulations! As soon as I start college I'm applying! I'd absolutely love a job as a tour guide. It would be my dream come true.

Anyways, it's not just for spring, right? They have summer too, yeah?

Congratulations! I was accepted as well and got Attractions also. It wasn't my first choice, but I don't care, cause I'm going to Disneyland! I can't wait to start making magic for people

Yes, in California if you apply for Spring, you get Spring + Summer which runs January - August. It's a bit different in Florida, where they offer both a Spring (January - May) and "Spring Advantage" (January - August) and you choose which you'd prefer.

As far as I can tell, they don't look at your GPA at all (or else I probably wouldn't have gotten in!). They're mostly interested in how interested you are in the program, especially helping guests, and how enthusiastic you are about working for Disney.
