Sadly never. Jeez that was gorgeous looking back then though. What a shame....

        Re: Did you ever?

I can remember playing at Skull Rock, but not eating at the ship. The combination of Skull Rock, Swiss Family Treehouse and Tom Sawyer Island was the greatest playground ever built.

Also, there once was a Jungle Island just outside the gates of Knott's, just north of Independence Hall, which was another great playground, but sadly it is also long-gone.

I don't remember. I wasn't born yet, but I do envy the fact that you got to experience it.

              Re: Did you ever?

Never ate there, but always wanted to. However, my parents were under the impression that the menu only held tuna sandwiches, and they weren't interested, and as I had no job to buy my own food, I was out of luck.

I still remember and miss it, though. If nothing else, it was just downright beautiful.

I'm jealous of those who got to.
I never go to see the ship.
I'd love if they could bring it back.

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

                  Re: Did you ever?

I remember skull rock more than I remember the ship. But it could be that I didn't connect the ship to Peter Pan/pirates so it probably wasn't as magical to me as skull rock was.

1982. They tried to save it but it fell apart as they were working on it.

With the Fantasyland remodel in 1982/83. Such a shame, too.

EDIT: beat me to it! lol

Yes.......hamburgers and cokes from the Character Food Stand always tasted better in the shadow of Skull Rock (must of been the negative ions)

Well that explains it, my first visit was in 1986. At least they did try to save it.
