  • The Little Man in the Castle...

I was looking at my souvenirs from Disneyland and I noticed that on several items of promotional material for the 50th, there is a little man standing on the drawbridge of Sleeping Beauty Castle. When I first saw this, I immediately though it was Walt, but it doesn't really look like him. He is ghostlike in appearance, like an apparition. I have inserted a scan of the art I'm talking about below, but the figure isn't very visible in this scan. For a better look, you can see him on the "shaped " postcard of the Castle (for the 50th) and the 5X7 jacket cover for commemorative park photos. I'm sure this concept painting is on other souvenirs as well. If anyone could identify this figure for me, I'd be very happy.

I'm betting it's like Walt's spirit or something like that. There *is* that infamous photo of him in about the same spot at the castle from way back in the 50's.

That was what popped into my head, but it really doesn't look like Walt. Like you all have stated, it is quite odd. I know that there is a miniature Walt staring back at you in the Castle model at "The First 50 Years" exhibit, and I was thinking this "spirit" was along those lines, but it really doesn't look like Walt to me at all. Maybe someone can identify it...

Are we sure it's not Mickey? If not, maybe just a weird use of light to give the image of the carosel behind?

I looked at it again (this time on the Christmas Ornament), and now it looks like two people. One could be Walt and the other could be a woman, but I honestly don't know. At least I know I am not alone. There is something spooky in Sleeping Beauty Castle, and it's not Maleficent. lol Keep your ideas coming!

I stared at drawbridge and I see unky Walt now. It definetly looks like him. He's facing to the left but looking forward (to the "camera") His head is right below the separation between ARTHUR and CAROUSEL. I darkened the picture a bit to try and make his face more clear.. you should be able to see it if you look hard enough. Ursula still doesn't say testicles, though.

I'm not convinced it's that it's just a coincidence and wishful thinking, though, but I do see it now.

I've heard it once and I've heard it at least 200 times. She says testicles.
