  • Dick Van Dyke and Walts Apt.

Ok, it was really the best. I got to be Dick Van Dykes security escort.

I took him to and from the stage and guarded Walt's Apartment. I was so thrilled. He really is the nicest guy, very energetic. The apt. was awsome to (due to circumstance I was allowed to "sweep" the apt), it was my first time ever viewing it.

I also got to meet Marie Osmond, and a few other guests of Mr. Van Dykes. One of the best nights I have had working in a long time.
    Well Secluded, I see all!!!

I had the opportunity of meeting Mr. Van Dyke and I can honestly say he's one of the nicest celebrities to have ever lived.

Very cool...you'll have a memory to last a lifetime. I got to meet Mr. VanDyke at the Julie Andrews soundstage naming event at the Studios. He is just so nice and it's impossible not to smile when you talk with him.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive.
If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

With all this talk of "off the shelf" and "on the back-burner" it seems the only thing that DCA is really missing is the kitchen sink!

What an enormous honor to be given to you, Old_School_Goofy!

Thank you for posting this thread, the pictures are so beautiful! I had wondered if the apartment had been preserved, I am so glad it has.

I've always felt that Hollywood Backlot at DCA should have a museum of Walt Disney (I understand Walt's Family now has one at the old Presidio in the Bay Area), and recreations of Walt's office as well as the Apartment above the Firehouse should be included.

Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
