  • News Downtown Disney AMC: Ultimate Marvel Movie Marathon - May 3

Just read about this on Aintitcool...AMC and Marvel Studios (Disney) will be hosting a Marvel Movie marathon just before the premier of The Avengers. The Downtown Disney AMC is one of the multiplexes that is hosting this event. So if you are hanging around the park and want to take in a marathon of movies before the Avengers, they'll be in this order:
    Iron Man
    The Incredible Hulk
    Iron Man 2
    Thor 3D
Captain America: The First Avenger 3D
    The Avengers 3D

All 6 movies will set you back $40, which is actually, not a bad price.

This is something that I would love to do, but I agree with the person above me. That would just be WAY to much sitting. by the time the Avengers showed up, I'm be way to frigidity to enjoy it.

I wish it was happening here in Atlanta. I would do it. $40 is also not a bad price considering a ticket at my local AMC is at least $10.

I'm wondering if there are normally-priced tickets available for folks who want to see select movies rather than stick it through to the end. All-in-all, though, I think it's a great idea and I'm glad to see things around the resort get some attention.

            Burbank 16 - Burbank, CA
Downtown Disney 12 - Anaheim, CA
            Aventura 24 - Aventura, FL
Empire 25 - New York, NY
Garden State 16 - Paramus, NJ
Downtown Disney 24 - Lake Buena Vista, FL
Metreon 16 - San Francisco, CA
            Alderwood 16 - Lynnwood, WA
Tysons Corner 16 - McLean, VA

Apparently there will be other locations added in the near future.

Almost want to go just to see Ironman, the Hulk and Captain America...then go to Disneyland for the rest of the time (I did like the Thor Movie but have seen it 3 times)
                Happy Halloween!!!

Ha, as far as Marvel Studios is concerned, that movie doesn't exist. The Incredible Hulk was just a better representation of Hulk though, and got to what people paid to see: Hulk doing Hulk stuff faster. Plus he used cars for boxing gloves when he fought Abomination, which was AWESOME.

Incredible Hulk may have been more palpable for the audiences but it was also sloppy filmmaking.

Either way, I'm sitting this one out. Can you imagine an entire day of movie theater food?

I do not think it matters which was the better films. My understanding is that since Hulk came before, it was therefore excluded from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has been building up to The Avengers.

Absolutely correct. The ending of The Incredible Hulk had the "Avengers" nod as well.

The theatre listed for VA is in a mall... I would hope they would allow exits/reentry for such a marathon. Let you get up.. stretch.. leave.. and come back if you want to skip one a film, etc.

Even then... depending on how good your seat is, you might be in for a really cramped neck day!

I plan only on seeing Captain America since I've seen all the others.

There should be a sticky thread called "This Day in Disney History." The company has a long history and this would be a good way to acknowledge it. Walt was born 112 years ago; that's quite a chunk of American history and culture.
