  • [Question] Why does Disney need to add "Inspired by Disney-Pixar's..." labels?

Re: Why does Disney need to add "Inspired by Disney-Pixar's..." labels?

I would think because the Pixar brand usually means the best of the best in animation and storytelling to most people. People associate the name with its near perfect track record. The name almost transcends disney in a weird way. At least to a lot of people.

Like "This isn't just a disney product, but a PIXAR product as well!!!!" It still means something i guess.
In the quest for quality, I have no problem with the characters footing the bill.

I believe that Pixar is also still considered an individual company that just happens to be owned by Disney. Just like ABC is a TV network that is owned by Disney or Miramax films is a company owned by Disney. Pinrar's explanation is also a good thought as well.

IMO people have started to associate Pixar with Quality. I think its just another way for Disney to associate themselves with quality work. I don't mind it!

Per the acquisition deal, Pixar remains its own studio with its own staff, its own culture, its own creative identity.

Ask anyone who works for Pixar.

Also most of the pixar rides were built and created before Pixar was purchased by Disney, this likely needed to be identified as such for legal reasons. I'm sure given the purchasing agreement this still applies now as mentioned earlier.
