  • [Other] Changes to Ariel's Undersea Adventure in DCA?

What do you think of them? The first thing, I noticed, of course, was that they changed Ariel's "Dole Whip Hair". And also added more hand-drawn animation to the ride. Also, Ariel combs her hair with a "dinglehopper" in the beginning with Flounder. So what do you think? Are the changes sufficient? Or could they add more to the ride? Sorry if this has been posted already.

It was posted already, but I think they were an improvement.

Do you have the link to the thread? It's not showing up in search for me.

Re: Changes to Ariel's Undersea Adventure in DCA?

I love Ariel's new hair in the "under the sea" room, looks great! Plus, her movements are more in sync with the song, which looks better. And the few other changes are good too, yet more subtle. I still wish they do a lot more to the attraction!

For starters, the "under the sea" room, as a whole, needs to have a more realistic look to it. And covering up the ceiling would be number one. Look what Disney did to the ceiling of Splash Mountain, it looks fantastic. Also, the "kiss the girl" scene needs to have real water, so again, to be more realistic looking. And finally, the finale needs to get rid of that annoying dancing turtle and again, add real water. Infact, the finale should include all of Ariel's sisters, but that's just my opinion. And change the exit to where you don't see this bright white light lurking at the end.

It's disappointing that for so long, this attraction was being labeled an "E" like attraction while being built. And at best, it's an over glorified "C". Had they labeled it correctly in the beginning, I'd probably wouldn't have expected so much better.

But still, I enjoy it and I'm very pleased Disney is still tweaking it. Hopefully as time passes, it will continue to receive more major tweaks.

Mermaid never was, nor is, labeled as an E-ticket by Disney.
