They hope for him to Tweet about how great it is, and spread the word. Universal did the same for Transformers and celebrities.

He's a celebrity and a sports star. That makes him better than us.

Publicity. Plain and simple. This is actually common practice before product release.
In the quest for quality, I have no problem with the characters footing the bill.

Disney has always allowed celebs in before the GP. The have been doing it since July 17 1955.

Who cares. He's a really nice guy, and him being there isn't detracting from your experience.

                    Celebrities getting special treatment?!!!

WOW has Disney sunk low...Walt would never have condoned special treatment no matter how famous...

I am sorry, but despite all the stories of how Walt would talk to all his cast memebers no matter how seemingly small, a celeb getting preferential treatment is not a new low for Disney and it is certianly not new for the world...

I would much rather have a celeb get perks at Disneyland than the many perks they get with the law.

And no I don't think Kobe is better than any one of you. You guys are micechatters which already makes you better than him!

                      Why not?

Not only is Kobe a celebrity, he is a huge Disneyland nerd and annual passholder. It's good publicity And common practice to let celebrities - especially celebrity fans - in to sneak previews.

I wonder what he has to say about the ticket increases. I wonder what he's cutting back on to save to pay the extra amount.

Actually, many Attractions Cast Members who have dealt with Mr. Bryant and his wife (before and after the affair he had) in loading areas, pre-shows, or queues would disagree with your assumption that he is a "really nice guy".

The valet runners at the Hotels who valet park his car, who groan when Mr. Bryant shows up and have some interesting stories to tell, would also disagree with you very strongly. (Kobe is the 21st century Jack Benny for those who work for tips.)

Mr. Bryant has a well known reputation with front line Attractions Cast Members, plus the valet parking guys over at the Hotel. At his best he keeps to himself, lets his tour guide do all the talking, and occasionally smiles at a pretty Attractions hostess. At his worst, it can be very uncomfortable for all involved.
