[Question] How often is Aladdin's Oasis open for character photo ops?

I have been to Disneyland many times, especially over the last year and typically the only thing I see by Aladdin's Oasis that is open is that Accessibility Bathroom. However on our last trip for DCA's opening it was open for photos with Genie. Is this something that happens on a regular basis or have I just missed it all this time?

It was a very nice and air conditioned spot off the beaten bath to relax as well on such a busy day. Anyway here are just some photos of the location. One funny thing, there were no CM's initially with Genie and a mother and her young boy climb into The Cave of Wonders mouth for photos. As soon as the kid steps up there were a few Arabian-esq dressed CM's came out to promptly get the kid out of the tiger's mouth.

I have never seen it opened. I never have understood why they haven't found a way to start serving again. When it was open I didn't have the money to eat there. Maybe there is something in the works and they are letting people into it. Adventureland sure could use it! Thanks for the pictures!!!!

With the loss of the Plaza Gardens seating, the Oasis has started opening on busy days as a place to sit and relax. The characters are there possibly to make the area feel less desolate.

Yeah this is new I haven't seen that place open in a very long time. I think the last time I have seen it open was in 2010.

they have been open most days lately because it has one of the few Companion restroom in the park... and the extra seating/dining space was need ... lets face it.. the 4 tables they have in front of bangle isnt enough lol.. i noticed they were fixing the place up a few months ago... i miss the old fabric that use to hang there... it was nicer than this one sheet awning

@biggsworth Great I am glad that I am not the only one who hadn't seen this place open in a long time. I know at either last year's D23 or the year before they mentioned about somehow reviving old attractions, an Tahitian Terrace (what this was before Aladdin's Oasis) was shown. Time will tell.

@dfan07 That adds to probably why I have not seen it open at least in recent times since most of the times I have been through Adventure-land it has not been that busy. To true about not a lot of places to sit in the neck of Disneyland with Plaza Gardens gone.

@Capt Hook Again glad that I wasn't the only not noticing this place open.

@PozEmerald The tables are very nice and they had the fans and air conditioning going on the wall segments so it was very comfortable, and Bengal BBQ's eating area is a little bit of a joke especially how popular that place is on busy days. I had seen the restroom open in the past but the main area was usually d/roped off. I wish I would have been able to see what either Tahitian Terrace or Aladdin's Oasis looked like in it's prime. Sadly I missed out on both of those experiences through the years.

@Archimedes I don't know. It sounds like from everyone and research I have done since that they started minor refurbishments to the Oasis to make it presentable from years of it not in operation. It definitely currently is being used on busy days not just for character meet and greets but as a sit-down space. My hope honestly, is that it eventually closes down for a much more length refurbishment back into the Tahitian Terrace. But it being open is definitely a good sign.

I think it should stay Aladdin. The film deserves some representation, and it's a perfect fit for the land. It's just a shame they don't have room for something more.
