Just want to vent alittle. This summer seems so boring. Not enough money to take a vacation. So wanting to go to disneyland. We have a brand new grandson and he and his mommy( my daughter) live with us. He's six weeks old and wonderful. I so want to introduce him to my love of Disney. Yes he is young but never to young. My youngest daughter is 12 and she really wants to go to DLR and the beach. We are trying to plan a trip for next May when The baby Austin turns 1 (May 3rd) and my daughter turns 13 (May 18th). We thought that would be a great time since they both have milestone birthdays. But that seems so far away. What to do this summer? Any help? We live in Tucson, Az with no money. lol. Thank you all for reading and understanding.

Re: Feeling Blue
yeah I hear you on the tough summer. We are working to raise money for my daughters annual pass. We first started going to Disneyland to help with her special needs. She meets her docs there and it has been great for therapy. This year has been hard for everyone including us. This summer we have had nothing but yard sales and Doc appointment's for her. no fun at all lol! Anyway We hope with some more yard sales we might get enough to get her a pass at the old price if any are left to purchase.
We have been feeding ducks and going to the animal shelter to walk dogs and play with cats. Picnics can be fun and be done local but with the heat I usually do a breakfast one before it gets hot. our local library has free reading programs for kids and teens yours might too. Our local swimming pool is only 25 bucks a month to join for a family do you have one? Also look into free plays and concerts at your local parks our are nice. Just some ideas

No really!
To the OP, I hope you can come up with a solution. Disney trips are hard for those of us that are far away. It sounds like you have a plan though. I hope it works out for you and your fam!sigpic

Re: Feeling Blue
I've never been to Arizona, but I think there are several Old West themed attractions you could visit. They don't have Big Thunder Mountain, but they do have song and dance revues can-can girls, neither of which exist in DL anymore.
Beyond that, try to think about what it is about DL that captivates you. What, in your mind, makes "the magic?" See if you can find places that capture that same feeling but are closer to you.Disneyland Historic Preservation Society
