[Question] Park Hopper Upgrade Query

Hey guys, I was planning on taking a trip to Disneyland tomorrow (Saturday). Is it possible to buy a single day Park Hopper and then upgrade to a Deluxe Annual Passport even though it's a blockout date? I'd really appreciate feedback at the moment. Thanks.

I believe you can upgrade on any day. However you can't use the pass on a blockout day.

They will not let you use a Pass that is Blocked. They will let you use a valid park hopper ticket.

Here is the easiest correct information for what you want.

You are going to the park on a day that is normally AP Blocked, you use a parkhopper the whole day and near the end of the day go to the ticket booths before you leave and upgrade to an AP, they roll the price of the parkhopper in to the price of the AP and you owe the difference (either via payment plan or all at once) and you have effectively gained an extra day on your AP without paying the extra "block out ticket" price.

Yes, it is possible to upgrade any ticket to one of higher value or a Pass by paying the difference in price, even on a blockout day.

But that all seems pretty convoluted. If you intend to buy a Pass, go ahead and buy one even if it is a blockout day. You are always permitted to enter the park with your newly purchased Pass, even on a blockout day, with no additional fees.

Don't even bother with the park hopper ticket. Just buy the pass to begin with and enjoy an extra day of discounts. Annual passes are always valid on the day of purchase regardless of normal blackouts. Confirm this at the ticket booth when you buy your pass and they'll tell you the same thing.
