Pro- DCA is basically a full day park now. I know because I spent 15 hours in it and wasnt bored at all. Just so much to do now.

Con- Could still use a few more good dark rides to round it out.

Re: DCA in 2012 Pros and Cons!

I think one of the biggest and, might I add, irreversible cons of the park is the layout. It's clustered and doesn't have a natural flow much like Disneyland. Disneyland has the wheel-spoke pattern with paths between the spokes to ensure multiple ways of getting around traffic. DCA doesn't have that type and there tends to be a mass traffic, especially on the path straight between Buena Vista and Carsland. Speaking of which, the parade route can turn the Blue Sky Cellar into Alcatraz. I happen to get stuck there twice because I forgot to check my watch. I had to wait quite some time just to cross the road into Carsland waiting for that parade crosswalk section to come over. That problem can easily be traversed in Disneyland, because they not only provide anough room for people to watch and traffic to move freely, but they also have those, as mentioned above, alternative routes.

On th Pro side, I love looking at the Carsland mountain range. Since I am already in love with the desert national parks, it comes as so surprise that I wished that Cadillac Range, Ornament Valley, and all those areas were actual places.

i agree with the shade problem in Cars Land BUT it is a desert and deserts are hot and shadeless believe it or not but the cons of DCA is nothing replaced MaliBOOMer and a pro is the fact that they tuurned Paradise Pier from one of the worst things Disney's ever built to a cute 1920's carnival with life in it. i definatly approve

That annoying layout is what handles the crowds so well at DCA. Its layout with the main route going around the perimeter means that people rarely cross each others paths. and the place where everyone has to pass through(BVS) is very short unlike MS which becomes a long bottleneck.
In the quest for quality, I have no problem with the characters footing the bill.

Paradise Pier has charm. It has been transformed. The Ferris Wheel is not a ordinary ferris wheel. It is much better than your average carnivals ferris wheel.

The reason behind this is simple, Wooden Coasters are much more aesthetically pleasing. Steel Coasters are a lot smoother. With a steel coaster you have advantages, like more flexibility in track design. You have a launch and a loop. The only wooden coaster with a loop Son of Beast, had it's loop removed because it did not work out. Plus California Screemin' is the second longest steel coaster in the United States. (I believe Millennium force is first, something in Cedar Point any way) California Screemin' makes sense it is a great Coaster and themed to a wooden coaster makes the area more appealing.

The only week link in PP i see, is Goofy's sky school. It is a great Idea for a land theme. 1920's amusement pier can be fun, and PP is fun. TSMM and Screamin's popularity show that.

pro: DCA has more of the "charm" that makes DL so very special.

con: DCA is still far from being a contender for the sheer splendor of DL.

e.g. they need to spend more and tweak the weak

I guess if you're comparing yourself to Six Flags this is impressive.
Loops are way over rated, rather have a real woodie with plenty of drops and bunny hills.

Exactly! Although I have no issue with Goofy. The ferris wheel is the new icon of the park. Nothing "tacky" about. My goodness. As for the games, they're perfectly within the theme of the land.

I dont want to change the subject but have to agree with others about PP! Originally I hated it. Came off waaaay too tacky and soulless and there was nothing in the place worth doing except Screamin. Now its one of my favorite places and before BVS and CL it became my favorite area. It still has its problems, but its moving in the right direction and the ferris wheel is a nice icon for the park. In fact, it seems just as promoted as CCT and Ornament Vally does now. And I think having a key role in WOC makes it more valuable.

But I can understand why others still hate it too. I think for me though, it has become a really fun hang out spot, especially at night!
