  • [Fun] Churros and other snacks....!?

I LOVE Disneyland's Churros so much that I have to get one not only "per visit" but every day of my visit! If I'm there 5 days, I have 5 churros Does anyone else share this obsession, or have other snacks or food they can't skip while in the park?

I don't really get the obsession with the churro. It's OK I suppose but I can definitely take or leave it. It's also one of those foods that if it goes 20 seconds past its freshness shelf life it turns from a snack food to a lethal weapon. You'll poke your eye out with that thing.

The Mickey jalapeno cream cheese pretzel however? No we're talking.

Popcorn good. Caramel corn better. You can get the cream cheese pretzels at the Bengal Bar B Que, the Refreshment Corner and several other places. Not hard to find at all.

In fact I can get a jalapeno cream cheese pretzel (snack) and a safari skewer (snack) from the Bengal Bar B Que and call it lunch.

Every time I go I have the Mickey Ice-Cream bar (OF COURSE) and lately I've been taking a liking to the pretzels. You know, Unwrapped did a segment of Disney food a while ago and you should be able to see it on YouTube That's where I saw it.

Frozen Banana, hard to find around these parts in the stores so Disney is one of the few places I know that sell them.

Sorry, I have to disagree. I think that Disney's churros are lacking something. I think they're way too small for the price, and they seem a little dry to me. They should try getting a hold of Costco's churro recipe...THOSE are delicious.

My favorite snack item, hands down, are the turkey legs. They are so good, but so not worth the $8 Disney charges you for them. I also love the corn dogs from the Corn Dog Castle (and the wagon on Main Street).

I haven't seen them in a few years but remember when they also sold a strawberry flavored churro along with the traditional. I rather liked it but everyone I got to try one, took one bite, made a funny face, then told me I should stick that churro up my.... (well, this is a family friendly forum).

Gosh it seems like I'm so busy eating churros all the time that I'm missing all this other food! Not only that but I hate spending money on food, and I'm such a picky eater that a lot of it probly isn't for me.... Is the Mickey ice cream bar chocolate? cuz if it is that's probly why I haven't had it since I hate chocolate... the frozen banana sounds like it could be good tho! How much are they?

I have to agree with those above me and say getting a cream cheese pretzel is a normal part of my Disney day and I don't have to get one but I do tend to (its my normal share snack while we are waiting for dinner)

I really dont like the churros to much, I do love the dole whip during the hot summer days, so that I can take a chill break.

I like the churros but only have one or two per one week visit. I think I've come to like the idea of them more than the actual churro.

Personally, I prefer Costco churros because they cost less and they taste better, AND they're bigger.

Do Mint Juleps count? I mean, they've got cherries, so that has to be a snack.

If not, popcorn is always a must for me, although it is a bit pricey.

                                    Re: Churros and other snacks....!?

You know, as I think about it, I'm not sure if I've ever eaten a Disneyland churro. I've had a few churros before, and they're a decent little snack, but I don't think I've ever had a Disneyland churro, specifically. Last time I was in the Park was 2005, and although I remember seeing some of those giant corn dogs in DCA (and they did look awfully good), I didn't have one of those, either. And I don't recall this jalapeno cream cheese pretzel so many are raving about, so I'm guessing it's a relatively new addition to the Disneyland snack world (sounds pretty tasty, though!). I think I've had the popcorn a few times over the years, and, well, if it's fresh, it's usually good popcorn (still Orville Redenbacher if I remember correctly, isn't it?).

I only have a few food memories of Disneyland, really. The Dole Whip, the Mint Julep, some barbecue chicken skewers in Adventureland, clam chowder in a breadbowl in New Orleans Square, some really good gringo-style Mexican food at the old Casa de Fritos, some tasty burgers and waffle fries in Tomorrowland, barbecued pineapple ribs at the Tahitian Terrace (although I actually have stronger memories of the really cute hula dancing girls, to be honest), freshly squeezed orange juice at the old Sunkist Citrus House on Main Street, and, going way, way back, tuna boats at the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship restaurant in Fantasyland.

I tried the jalapeno pretzel after seeing so many people rave about them here, I and thought it was horrible. I must have gotten a bad one. It was dry, tough, and stale. I had a bite or two and threw it away.

My go-to snack is a Dole Whip and a black coffee. I just wish they sold those two things together at one location. Inevitably, I have cold coffee or melted Dole Whip. Still delicious though!
