So according to Al's latest update we can now start officially discussing the Frontierland expansion and the Tomorrowland revamp. I'm curious as to what people think we'll get. Will they really get rid of Autopia, Nemo and Innoventions? Will the Frontierland arena, become a new land, or will it just expand it? Or maybe it'll expand Toon Town or Fantasyland, as it's been previously reported there's been debate about. Let's discuss. This is huge news that's finally unofficially official. :yea:

Re: So the expansion for Disneyland is on, huh?
Well it makes zero sense to bring back the subs via Nemo and then take it away.
Autopia needs to get revamped. It's a classic.
I feel Critter Country will finally be eliminated to allow Frontierland to expand
As for Tomorrowland, it seems pretty small to expand or change. the elimination of Innoventions will most likely not create an outcry by the public. The reintroduction of the people mover makes the most sense.
Does Tomorrowland really need a 3D movie? Why not create a new attraction inside the theatre. Just my thoughts

Re: So the expansion for Disneyland is on, huh?
I have been thinking about this for the last couple of days. It is like Al knew what I was thinking. I am disappointed and shocked about the Subs and Autopia leaving if this was true. The Subs is rather new and probably cost alot of money to build. I thought Autopia would just decrease it track lenth and a new loading/queue area. But I hope an expansion for TL also mean a redo for the entire land.
For the expansion for Frontierland, I am thinking it would not get green light until after the Oz prequel movie comes out. Imo if it succeeds then Ozland, if it fails then more of the existing frontier theme.*

They also put Pooh in Fantasyland, surrounding by a bunch of medieval architecture. Splash has nothing to do with the old west, and Critter Country was named so, after its opening. We're the first park to get the attraction. It was shoe horned into Disney World without the luxury of the lands theming, as we had.

I have mixed feelings about the subs. I don't think maintenance should be taken into consideration. They knew the costs when they built it, and I don't think being cheap is a valid excuse. Now the odd theming of it being in Tomorrowland, the low capacity, and the city not thinking it's safe in an emergency, are a bit more complicated.

I'm wondering whether any future attractions would/could be the variety of Country Bears? Is there a power person who would want such an attraction, or are they looking for "many loops"? It doesn't necessarily have to be the Bears, but an attraction that Walt would have enjoyed.I am old. But still love Disneyland.

It's hard to understand why Critter Country was even created since even the Bears can be considered to be frontier themed

I think the critters only wanted their own sign
But the sound of a Frontierland expansion sounds EXCITING. Both Frontierland and Tomorrowland need some much needed loving care, as well as the rides in the park. They need some fresh TLC, especially Splash Mountain and Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Total Tender Rides: 20
Total Lilly Belle Rides: 9
Total Dapper Days Attended: 2
Total Mark Twain Wheelhouse Rides: 5

All the rumors make perfect sense (although the idea of Marvel gate is a little odd). I could see 7 new rides added to Disneyland with 2 in Frontierland, 2 in fantasyland, and 3 in Tomorrowland. I would like to see Frontierland add Western River Expedition (oh baby I hope this finally happens!) and an animatronics gun fighter show using the same tech as alien encounter but with gun toting bad guys and law men! Fantasyland would add a Tangled boat dark ride using the motor boat cruise area and the rumored Tinkerbelle dark ride. Tomorrowland would get a new Adventures through inner space launch coaster (with lots of animatronics), a time machine ride, and EPCOT (a ride that takes guest's through Walt Disney's orignal idea for a futuristic community). This ride would be similar to Horizons but way more elaborate with larger sets and more realistic animatronics.

Re: So the expansion for Disneyland is on, huh?
So, removing two potentially 3 rides, subs, cars, and innovations, to drop in new attractions. Okay, looking at the map, this would be a huge area. Potential is very high. But when I look at it, it involves spending millions of dollars to remove rides, only to replace them with slightly higher capacity rides. This would lead to marginal improvements in overall park capacity and riders per hour.
On the other hand, there is the removal of the ranch and expansion of frontier land into the horse area outside the burm. This would likely cost similar or potentially less but any new rides here would significantly increase overall park capacity and riders per hour.
On face value, I understand the desire for a tommorow land revamp. But the most bang for the buck would be with an expansion of frontier land outside the burm.
