  • [Question] Tortuga at Disneyland?

So the fact that people are waiting hours on end to experience Cars Land, and are paying full day prices got me thinking. Would you pay $40 for a mini-park that was themed to the teeth like Cars Land or the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? I for one would love to experience the richness of Disney's biggest franchise - Pirates, but if the third park is Marvel, that won't happen. Here's my suggestion. When Disney finds a place to build a new structure or 2, demolish the Mickey and friends one that is structurally damaged ( a new structure could even be buried beneath this new land). Use the land from ESPN zone to build a Tortuga themed hotel which leads into Tortuga and a half-day mini park. I'm imagining shipwreck island, shanghai's e-ticket, black pearl and Dutchman walk-throughs, a second e-ticket, a d-ticket and a lagoon show with highly themed restaurants and shops. It's also be cool to include explorable treasure caves. Basically if the imagineers had built the original Indy w the mine cart and Jungle Cruise. I feel like it'd add. Hotel rooms and give guests reason to do a pool /spa day with a half day park extending ther stay. It's also good use of the limited space at the resort.

This would be a really cool idea for something like Shanghai where there isn't already an existing Pirates attraction.

Or if WDW wanted to make a Pirate themed water park, the possibilities of that would be endless.

I've thought something like this would be awesome for a long time, but I don't know how likely it is to happen

If you're going to TOTALLY immerse the guests in the theme, you MUST serve alcohol...

that doesn't help those of us that are under 21. That said, in all of DL, I've never felt like I wasn't immersed in theme. DCA on the other hand, not so much (though I haven't been there since TLM opened)

I have always thought that Tom Sawyer's Island would be better as a real "Pirate Island." The current Pirate Island overlay was weak. All of the pirates are dead? Where is the fun in having dead pirates if we could have real live ones?

There is so much more you could do with a real "Pirate Island."
