It's time to go. It's outdated and you can play with go karts locally in any city in America. Plus there bad for the environment and don't represent our future at all. If anything they can make a version of Autopia and put it in Carsland over at DCA.

I think it should be updated/re-done with a new landscape and new vehicles. Re-doing or replacing the cars to look like some sort of futuristic vehicles would still allow for the experience of guests operating vehicles of the future that was meant to be intriguing and appealing when the idea for Autopia was originally conceived. A new, unexplored landscape (such as one in space, perhaps with unique alien Audio-Animatronics), would add another layer to the attraction's experience to vastly improve the attraction while keeping its original concept.

I voted for bulldozers. As nostalgic as Autopia is, it is in Tomorrowland and it's just not very "futuristic" in its current state. Even if they switch to all electric vehicles that's basically what we have in the present (though truthfully they are fairly uncommon still).
In my opinion if they wanted to keep the autopia attraction idea they could switch to electric and do something like piezoelectric power generation in the track along with other "green" electricity to power the attraction. Use something like a magnetic guidance system so you don't have to have a big center bar to guide you. True it takes some the fun out of 'driving' the car; however, my vision of a future car would be a self-driving car that guides itself anyway. There's near boundless idea's for how to make the attraction point to a new generation of cars, and different ways to think about beautifying solar panels to provide not only clean energy, but make a better view from the road. Anyway, that's just my brief opinion.

Move to Cars Land??? It's already there, but in the form it should have taken years ago. I realize it's a hard ride to say goodbye to, but its time has come. It doesn't really fit the theme, it's outdated, it's just to move on. BTW, where did some of those poll options come from? Martians???

i say move to carsland, with an updated less smelly way of working. I have noticed that some kids get scared on RSR, it would be a perfect people eater and kid favorite if you drove around some impressive rockwork, maybe into a closed in section made to look like tail-light caverns? vroom-vroom?

Move it to Carsland. There's plenty of space behind the rock and around the area. Besides, Cars and Autopia go hand in hand.

I think the Martian/Alien Landscape would be interesting. The story could be that guests are astronauts in the year 2050 and advancements in space travel have allowed for the discovery of and contact with alien life. Then you drive around this "planet." They could set up special lighting effects so that at night the tracks would take on a whole other feel.

I say shorten the track and make the cars electric and the environment you drive though more 'futuristic'. This wouldn't be a "one or the other" thing. They would need to do all three of these things. So I couldn't really vote in the poll.


Of course there's the other part of me, the one who doesn't bother riding Autopia anymore, who says "bring in the bulldozers".

Nah, I really do think this ride had its fair time in the park, entertaining many generations of guests, and even representing future to the earliest of Disneyland guests.. Now, I think it's time that we move on, and create a new way of entertaining families while keeping with a more updated take on the future.

though i have fond memories of the ride, bring in the bulldozers. i don't think any updates they could do in its current location would be worth it & i'd rather see something original go behind cars land. plus the potential in all that open land is rather exciting.

Considering "moving" the Autopia to Carsland, the Autopia is much different from RSR as you get to drive the Autopia cars, a big plus for little kids who don't yet have driver's license. RSR is much less "interactive".

Presumably, a Carsland version of autopia would utilize themed characters that fit in the Cars universe, perhaps "baby" cars, which would be electric and drive through a richly themed environment. Given that Hong Kong Disneyland already has an electric of the Autopia, it would be relatively easy and cheap to build compared to RSR, and with a ride capacity of perhaps 2,000 to 3,000 per hour, it could help alleviate lines for other rides in Carsland.

While a lot of APers had fond memories for the ride, which no doubt no longer captivates them, today's and tomorrow's children still love these type of rides. I can't help but think that a Carsland Autopia, which had a lot of great theming (just as headlights which work at night), could be squeezed in and would be even more likable for adults given the automotive theme of Carsland.

They should have worked it in to the design of Carsland in the first place. They can still move it to Carsland but it probably won't look as good as if they had integrated it in the design of Carsland from Day 1 of the design process. They still should, and make the cars electric, and each car is a character from a Cars movie, and have the cars talk to you and say funny things at random, or triggered by things you do. This would be an appropriate way of repurposing the Autopia, and it should have been incorporated into the design of Carsland from the beginning. Yes, Radiator Springs Racers are also cars, but you don't drive them, so that's a different experience.

As an adult I would say bulldoze it, but remembering as a child, it is the first opportunity that you get to drive a car. I say that it needs saved, but not in its current form or location. It can go to carsland, it could go to fantasyland, but for kids I think it needs to go somewhere.
