  • Video I got to sing with Ragtime Robert!!

Maybe for some people this would be not as big of a deal, but I found it to be a once in a lifetime experience.

There I was, at the 5:45 showing of Ragtime Robert at Coke Corner during my vacation to Disneyland two weeks ago.
My boyfriend and I were sitting at the nearest table to him, listening intently, we always enjoy his music
He approached us at the end of the show and asked if we wanted to play anything along with him. I encouraged my boyfriend to play with him as he is a trained classical pianist, but he declined because he can't play ragtime.
Robert winked at us and said "let me know if you change your mind."
I got an idea in my head that I could sing with him a Disney song while he played, and it made me so excited.
I didn't know if he would allow it though :/
I approached him soon after and gave him my idea. He said "we'll see, stick around for my next show."
I was crestfallen, as I thought this surely meant no.
But, I waited anyway for his second show patiently for my chance.
He played a few ragtime songs at the second show, and then called me up with him and asked what I wanted to sing. I was beyond excited!
    "what can you play?"
"well, that nice lady in the back wants to hear Tale as Old as Time. Can you sing that?"
Boy can I, I love that song and know all the words.
I performed the entire song for everyone at Coke Corner and it was a wonderful experience.
The woman who had requested the song called me over after I was done and said it was absolutely lovely and had I been classically trained? I thanked her and laughed, and told her I just enjoy singing and had sang in my high school choir a few years back.

I'm so happy I was able to have this experience, and he even complimented me after and said I sounded beautiful
means so much coming from him.

Maybe he'll let me do it again next trip

watch it below if you want to:

I remember when this was all farmland as far the eye could see. Old man Peabody owned all of this. He had this crazy idea about breeding pine trees.
