[Idea] Yesterland comes to life in new 3D movie!

I'm probably not the first one to think of this idea , BUT -

Wouldn't it be cool if they showed a new movie in the Captain EO theater that showcased old, long gone Disneyland rides?!

Imagine, you sit down, the voice of Walt Disney takes you through a journey of some of the opening day attractions, and the ones that have gone away over the years.

Float along in a submarine and see the mermaids
Go through the matterhorn in a skyway cart
Ride on the rainbow caverns mine train
sing along with the country bears
be dazzled by the the main street electrical parade

the in theater special effects could be used and it would be awesome, I think
Another idea is to put this in the Soarin' Theater. I'm not saying this would be permanent, but maybe a limited engagement type of show for a summer or something.

Yeah that would be cool, great idea! It would be cooler if it was on an omni mover system, and you go through portions themed to the old rides, with Walt Narrating, like you get to re-live them. But the LAST thing tomorrowland needs is something that is out of place lol

I like it... I always wondered about something like that.

To really make this ride enjoyable... (without being just a movie) they would have to spend a lot of time and money to replicate the rides in 3D models, and then blend th emodels with actual footage. It would really be something though.

Neat idea, but not in Tomorrowland. It's bad enough we have a sub par 80's attraction there now, a Yesterland themed film would just not fit.

Yeah, I did consider that as well But that seemed more costly to me than a 3D movie, but then again I don't know how many HQ POV films there are of these old rides.
I guess they might have to be recreated if this became a reality.

and I don't think it's out of place at all. Since there's no land called Yesterland, I think it would fit just perfectly in tomorrowland, showing where we were some odd years ago, and how far we've come, and what lies ahead for the future.

In fact, maybe that could be a part of the ride. Start off with a lot of history, move on to the present day attractions for short period, then show off concept art of what's to come
