What do you know about the rumor that Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars could be cloned for DCA? Well, it's known that HKDL has the exclusivity for Grizzly (And Mystic Manor) for 5 years, so I think that 5 years is enough time for think about a new e-ticket in DCA. If I can remember well, Disney & More blog said that was impossible to fit the ride in the Grizzly Peak, but there is a lot of room in the Redwook area.

Re: Big Grizzly Moutain for DCA?
DCA does not need to clone any more attractions. If DCA is to continue to form its own identity it needs unique original/movie based attractions. Some micechatters think that a mine train ride might be a perfect fit for the area, and I totally agree. Sure, they can definitely add elements from BGMR like AA bears but they should not copy the ride.

I say yes, even if it's cloned it's going to be differenet. for example, the TSMM was meant for ONLY DCA but is very different at WDW and is now open at Tokyo, and the Mermaid ride is going for WDW as well and looks very different as well.

How about an attractions that lets kids run off energy has little to no wait and can serve a huge number of guests per hour?
You don't want to climb the rope bridges, that's fine but not a reason to replace it. There are plenty of people who enjoy Redwood Creek Challenge Trail that do.Be Cool Stay in School!
Next year I'm trying for a summer internship at Stark Industries.

Re: Big Grizzly Moutain for DCA?
I don't see the coaster coming to DCA at all. If another coaster is built, it would be best to put behind Cars Land because they'd only have to theme two sides of the structure and wouldn't be too close to the hotel. It could possibly work in other places too, but I think that the GRR area is just too small for a big coaster like that. Maybe a small coaster, like a High Sierra themed version of the new Snow White coaster could work.
But I do think more needs to be done with the Challenge Trail area, but I could see the trail coming back in a new form while making some space for a mine train ride. They could put an underground show building with mine scenes and then have the train go above ground and above parts of the new version of the CT on bridges. You could make the CT more interesting and replace most of the existing props once you've built the underground show building and make more space at the same time.
Then the mine ride could make a loop near GRR into part of what's currently CF and then into the empty corner area near the hotel. There they could fit another small show building for a scene that the monorail could pass through out of view of riders on the train. Then it could pass the in front of the hotel and back to the station. Please check out my website, UncleBobDisneyGuy.com!

Re: Big Grizzly Moutain for DCA?
I doubt very highly that it will be cloned, because it's more or less the kind of ride you'd get if you merged Big Thunder Mountain (which is across the way at Disneyland), Everest and DCA's own Grizzly River Run into one.My top favorite Disneyland attractions:
1. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
2. Pirates of the Caribbean
3. Splash Mountain
4. Mad Tea Party
5. Peter Pan's Flight
6. Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin

Originally posted by mickeyfan42 View PostThe thing to always keep in mind is, does this serve the most guests possible, is this area being used in the best way... Similar to when Disney announced the new Fantasy Faire, some people here were upset because they like what it was, but they weren't thinking about the fact that nobody goes there as it is. I've adopted the Micecast metric, are there butts in seats? If the answer is yes, how much of its capacity is it doing, does it get long lines? If the answer to butts in seats was no, then it needs to be replaced. the biggest examples of Disney doing the opposite... Country Bear Jamboree was getting butts in seats and got replaced by the pile of manure, while over in WDW, the Tiki Room: Under New Management wasn't getting butts in seats and didn't get fixed until there was a fire."Greetings, Starfighter! You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the Frontier against Xur and the Ko-Dan Armada."

They cannot clone the Grizzly Mountain roller coaster at Hong Kong Disneyland at California Adventure since the space won't allow for it. If they overlay a roller coaster on Grizzly Peak it will have a custom layout because of the existing GRR attraction. The only similarity may be the theme. It would be a welcome addition, but I doubt it will become a reality. Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is a small area and the proximity to the hotel may be problematic.
Uncle Bob, there is no room behind the mountain facade of Cars Land. Nothing will be built back there so long as Racers remain. That serves as the boundary for the park and an back of house access road.

Re: Big Grizzly Moutain for DCA?
It would be sick to see this in any form at DCA, but i just don't think it will happen. These coasters usually have to be built from the ground up, and since Grizzly Peak is already built it would be hard pressed to make a seamless addition of this attraction. If anything they'd have to clear redwood challenge and build it there, but you couldn't have two bear mountains so it'd have to just be hills/mountains.

Re: Big Grizzly Moutain for DCA?
I like the water play area that came with Grizzly Gutch i think it would go great in the awkward corner near the hotel next to CF and the explosion blast that comes with the ride could go there and under the Hotel Bridge like it does in HKDL. As for the Monorail im hoping for a station in the CF area.Enter into new Frontiers of Fantasy....... Today.......... Tomorrow.................Forever.........

Re: Big Grizzly Moutain for DCA?
After seeing the ride video all I could think about was how this could work at DCA. It looks like a great ride! I can see this in the Grizzly Peak area with little effort. With a little tinkering to the back-story it could work out very well. It could also provide the opportunity to enhance the land by adding more story and maybe some additional backdrops as well.
But, and there is a big but, space would be an issue. I wouldn't want WDI to try and shoehorn this attraction into a small area.
