  • [Question] Did Rockets Rods, and RSR use the same technology?

I was sitting here wondering if they used anything from the Rockets Rods (Like pieces of track or something else) for Radiator Springs Racers.
"Trap Toad will they? HA HA NEVER!"

I dont think so. From what I understand from reading all the posts here is that they used the concept from Test Track at Epcot as a base but have upgraded it with newer technology. I read that it is the most safisticated ride ourthere. ( please correct me if I am wrong, I could be). I think that rocket rods tech is outdated now. There might be some of Al's older articles that go a bit more indepth to the creation of RSR's.

Not sure if this answered your question but maybe pointed you in a general direction to find the best answer?

They both run on electricity and both shoot you down a track... That's about where the similarities end I believe.

The track designs are way different. I believe the Rocket Rods was the only one of it's type thus far.

Re: Did Rockets Rods, and RSR use the same technology?

Rocket Rods used technology derived from that used at Test Track whereas the Radiator Springs Racers technology is a direct descendant of the Test Track technology.

They both break (broke) down several times a day.

The track is indeed under the actual "road". RSR and Rocket Rods both use a variation of the busbar electrical system for power.
