[Idea] Redoing the Esplanade

so Buena Vista Street and Main Street compliment each other very well but now between them, the esplanade doesnt work for me. it just seems dead and just Eh. so how about adding some landscape and a lot of trees and make it look like a park, maybe redress the ticket booths to match the styles of both streets. make people who have never been there impressed before they even walk in. this will make a great shift when going from Main Street into Buena Vista Street. Hell, even the Partner's Statue could be moved here, it'll fit right in just a thought, what are your thoughts?

I says just add a fountain and a little Bit of landscaping around it it it's fine lol

This was actually on the list of things to do, but I believe DCA got all the extra money. There's a graphic somewhere of a fountain being placed there. I wish they would, so it would block those downtown disney people who camp out to see fireworks and trip everyone who actually paid admission, as they park hop.

i get that problem sometimes but then i see little kids who love the fireworks so.... im in the middle, i agree and disagree, BUT the do get in the way alot

I think Disney should buy the house that Walt was born in (its for sale right now) and but it in the esplanade.

I am fine with it being open like it is. It offers great views to both entrances and allows for some spacing from the crowds. Maybe a fountain in the middle would be cool. The thing I think needs work is the security check points. Just makeshift huts and not anything nice to look at. Kinda looks a bit junky to me.

A fountain would be great! I agree with the OP, some tuning up would be nice. I would not, however, like to see the Partner statue moved. It is so fitting where it is. I can't imagine walking toward the castle without it being there.

Probably because Walt never wanted his likeness to be in the parks, and the Partners statue was the first time his likeness was placed in the park.....

That said, I love that statue

Seriously though, I think the Esplanade does need something. It is too expansive and those check points do need to be dealt with. They got to remember, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression! I like the idea of having Walt's house put there. Maybe something else from Maceline MO.

Some shade may be nice, but I don't think it needs much more than that. I don't think they should over theme the area. That way, there is more of a "wow" factor when you enter the parks.

As far as people watching the fireworks from the esplanade, I have no problem with that. It is the same as if they watched them from the sidewalk on Harbor. At least in the Esplanade Disney gets parking fees from them.

From what I remember reading the pavers with the names on it can't be touched for 12 years and that ended in 2011 so technically speaking they can't touch it till 2023 or they have to refund the money paid for it. My facts might be a little off but it close to that

I should also mention that his family's house is pretty cheap for a house, its like 167k
