I'm just wondering, if Disney brought back Tahitian terrace as a high end restaurant, how popular do you think it would be? Would it have reservations sold out by mid-afternoon? Would it never sell out reservations? Would it even be a big enough draw to warrant the need for reservations? I know personally, I love the concept of Tahitian Terrace, but I probably wouldn't ever actually get an appointment since I never do at any of the other higher end restaurants. I also wonder if Disney did bring it back would the demand be so high that lines would stretch into Adventureland and create more over crowding problems? Anyways just wondering everyone's thoughts on the subject.

Re: Tahitian Terrace: Would it be a big draw?
^^My problem is I'm too cheap to spend money (and time) to eat at higher end restaurants in the parks. The only "table service" restaurant I ever eat at is Rain Forrest cafe and that's not in the parks and only on the rare occasion. I do love the whole idea of live entertainment in a secluded jungle setting.

Dining at the resort is one of my favorite activities (as I suspect it is for most of us), and my favorite places to eat are the ones that are well themed and serve unique food items that you can't get at just any snack cart. If they did it right, I think it would be a hit.

I'd rather see them add the Adventurer's Club (as upscale in-park restaurant) like the one that used to be at Pleasure Island at WDW. So cool. It would be a great transition from Victorian Main Street to Adventureland. And unlike at Pleasure Island, upstairs balconies could have a view over Jungle Cruise (maybe, not sure the sight lines?). They could hide some references to a Indy's father as a young man (as a club founder or something).

The biggest problem is just the cost. Your talking about $40.00+ per person per meal.

As for the cost of dining there, yep it'd be a splurge. Something to do every once in a while. Good to have that kind of stuff to savor too.

Re: Tahitian Terrace: Would it be a big draw?
Interesting... Everyone seems to think it would be popular/ expensive. As for Adventurers club, I doubt Disney would put enough money into it to build a complete restaurant structure when they can just demolish the Aladdin stuff and build a few fountains and some landscaping and open it as Tahitian terrace.

From the Lagoon of Liquidspaceman...
I would differently reserve a table. I've been working on getting a Tiki style restaurant in my city for years now!
Seeing that Disney invested in the tiki bar, over near the hotel tells me their data shows that there is a renaissance for the Tiki culture again....Liquidspaceman, over and out

Re: Tahitian Terrace: Would it be a big draw?
The Tahitian Terrace is, in my opinion, one of the most missed dining options at DLR. I love looking at those old photos with the fire dancers and hula girls...
I wouldn't care about the cost. I would reserve a table there in a moments notice."If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that"

Re: Tahitian Terrace: Would it be a big draw?
In my opinion, there aren't ENOUGH table service restaurants at DL compared to any other given Disney park. I remember going to the Tahitian Terrace as a kid, and remember how I used to get fantastic food that my mother couldn't even make...That alone made the place worth visiting! I would easily welcome the reappearance of this iconic DL restaurant and would wouldn't think twice about the cost of it. Of course, I've eaten at Victoria & Alberts Chef's Table, so I've already had the best Disney has to offer, but I'm sure if they keep it kid friendly, I could let my kids see what fine dining with a cool show along with it is like...Sure beats grabbing a few overpriced pizzas at Pizza Port in TL, that's for sure.
