  • [Question] Small World Sign Girls Club

I was just looking at a close-up photo I took of the It's a Small World sign and realized for the first time that all 14 people on the sign seem to be women/girls. Why is that? (I'm not posting to take issue with it, just curious if there's some backstory I'm missing that would cause them to make it that way.) Anyone know?

This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine, without me my signature is useless, without my signature i am useless!

Hmm, looks like a pretty equal ratio of boys and girls to me.

When I first glanced at it, I thought they all looked like little girls too. But there's no way to know for sure. The one with the Willy Wonka looking hat looks like a boy and so does the one on the lower left with the cowboy hat. Maybe even the one with the bandana on [his?] head.

          Honestly, I can't tell lol

If you take a look at the animatronics in the attraction, Disney uses the same face and body for either the boy or girl dolls. It's just how they're dressed (and a little extra in the eyelashes) that sets them apart. So I think this poster/the sign is perfectly in harmony with the attraction itself.

yeah look like both boys and girls...

on a similar note, has that sign always been there? I vaguely remember it being different when I was younger (time frame of 20 years). Anybody know about this or have a picture of the old entrance sign?

I only see 13 there, not 14...am I missing something?
In any event, they look like both boys and girls to me.

Here's the version I'm referring to, with 14 kids:

Re: Small World Sign Girls Club

I'm either seeing 7 boys and 7 girls, 8 boys and 6 girls, or 9 boys and 5 girls. But it's definitely not all girls.

It's definitely about 50 - 50 boys/girls. There are two boys in the front row (the one in the middle has a Middle Eastern keffiyeh; the one on the far left has a cowboy hat); three in the second row (top hat; Alpine hat; fedora); and one toward the top (African child).
Merida looks like this. Not a Barbie doll!

                            Ah, that explains it...
Still looks like both boys and girls to me though.
