  • [Fun] Spotted: Paradise Bay Monster (Pics)

Okay.. so it's probably just an algae clump that broke off from the bottom of the bay but if there ever was a reason to keep your mouth closed during WOC this would be one of them don't you think?

I could've sworn that the water used in WOC is filtered and doesn't come directly from the bay. I could be wrong though...

Warm water temps might be to blame + duck poop and people tossing their junk into the bay. I don't think that the filters can work that efficiently under these conditions.

Could be used as a new character: Creature From the Deep Pier.

why isn't the water blue. I remember it was blue before. most CA beaches have blue water. but at least it's not brown like last time....

I may be wrong but I think they stopped using the blue dye after WOC opened but I don't recall what the reason was for doing so.

Probably because you'd be able to see all the mechanical stuff for WOC at the bottom.

I've seen brown water in California...it was in this same exact beach that my friend and I (we were like ten-years-old) were attacked by a large mangy carpet someone had thrown into the water...

Haha, it does actually now that you mention it. I thought it was funny that a duck did happen to be swimming around at the time I was snapping shots of that thing.

On a side note, do we know what those things sticking out of the water behind the WOC platform are for? Not sure if this has been discussed.

I wouldn't say most beaches in CA are Blue maybe like Greenish or a mixture of Green and Blue

If you look closely you can tell there's a something greyish brown that the algae is growing on. I'd say it's a piece of plaster from one of the artificial rocks around the bay that broke off. It would explain both the algae (if the plaster was submerged before it broke off) and why it's together like that!
