  • [Question] Character Dinner from Costco??

Ok, so I booked a trip to DL in November from Costco and it comes with a free character breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I picked dinner. Is that a good choice? My hotel offers free hot breakfast everyday so I thought go for a meal I would normally have to pay for... Where is the dinner located? On the DL property or at a hotel?? I have never done the character dinning, but thought for my daughter's first trip, she would love this. Thanks!

You have to call and make reservations, there are a few different places you can choose from. We used our Costco character dinings at Goofy's Kitchen and Ariels Grotto. Tip was included too. Ariels grotto is inside california adventure and goofy's kitchen was in the disneyland hotel.

+1 for Ariel's Grotto. Awesome food, service, and characters. I personally like the Plaza Inn for breakfast, though I'm thinking of trying Goofy's Kitchen one of these days.

We have booked through Costco a couple times and always used it for the dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. We just don't usually eat enough at breakfast to make it worthwhile. Dinner, however, is another story. I love the hand-carved meats they have there. We try to eat lightly throughout the day to make for a good dinner.

I think it really depends upon what kind of characters you want. Ariel's is all about princesses. Goofy's has Chip and Dale, Geppetto, Goofy(of course), Pluto, and others. Personally, I have boys so Ariel's is out of the question.

Ok, I think Goofy is the way to go for us! What is the best time?? Do they let you take your own pictures when the characters come around, or make you pay some crazy price for the pictures??? this is the first time I have ever done a character meal..

when we went a number of yours ago they took one picture with your family before you go inthat you can buy and yes, they let you take your own pictures. We've done both places and we loved them both. food at goofy's was better tho.

They take a picture with Goofy (at Goofy's kitchen) that you can purchase, or you can take your own when the characters visit your table. We saw Belle, Chip, Dale, Snow White, and Goofy while at Goofy's Kitchen.
