  • [Idea] changing Monsters Inc

i think that Monsters Inc in DCA needs to be changed to be like the one in Tokyo with the flash lights. that would be awesome, who agrees?

To improve Hollywood land i do believe that monsters needs an overhaul, but i have no idea how to do that. They interactive flashlights would make the ride way better

Well, if we can't use the flashlights, then I guess all we've got is HEADLAMPS on helmets! I love Monsters Inc.. You really have to ride it twice or three times in a row to really enjoy it. The ride will turn into this great, slapstick comedy that'll have you laughin' till the ride ends! (this really happened my 1st visit to DCA)

ya what are they gonna do about it? Disney is a much bigger company and its not up to OLC to tell disney not to build rides based on DISNEY"S designs

The ride is great the way it is... it just needs a whole new exterior!

                Re: changing Monsters Inc

The flashlights for sure would make the ride...a whole lot more fun...but to me..the ride does not fit Hollywood 1940's.......so if they replace it with a another ride (and use the old Millionaire building too)

                Id be for that too
                Happy Halloween!!!

                    Re: changing Monsters Inc

The main issue is it has no place in Hollywoodland. The ride just needs to go, sadly.

It's not like grade school where the bigger kid can bully the other around. It's about legal and binding contracts. Tokyo's attractions are amazing for a price. And that's why we often look at them wondering why we can't have the nicest things.

Also, just because it's in the "Hollywood Studios" portion doesn't mean "anything goes". It really is out of place. It was an animated film made in Northern California... not Hollywood. It was also made on computers, not with live action sets and actors.

Overall, that's the problem with Pixar. I love them but they break theme harder than anything.

I think it just needs to be demolished or found a new home in Disney's 3rd park. Build Monstropolis as a land.

Wait are you sure about this? I know that OLC have contracts that allows OLC to have exclusivity to some of ts attractions for a certain number of years and that's mostly to prevent cannabilization from one park to the other. hong Kong has the same deal when it comes to Mystic Manor And Grizzly Gulch. Disney can not clone those attractions anywhereinAsia but they could be clone in the states. Once the contract expires which is normally five to ten years they could be cloned anywhere.

Also, OLC seems to have no problem visiting Anaheim to see certain attractions that it considers building clones of. OLC reviewed both of the TOT rides in the states and preferred the one in Anaheim minus the storyline because twilight zone is not very well known and they where also here in Anaheim surveying Toy Story Midway Mania and and ended up liking the originalproposalfor Anaheims Mania which had the Woody head?

Also if I remember correctly the contracts with Disney and OLC give Disney full control and rights to any attraction built for Tokyo.
