I thought I was at a Disney park not a night club -_-.

You are at a Disney park...? From what I can remember there have been nighttime parties at Disneyland for a long time in one incarnation or another. There's pictures of me at age 6 in 1994, dancing on a dance floor at night in Disneyland. It's not new.

Nighttime music and dancing at Disneyland goes back to at least the 60's. On my "Disneyland USA" DVD there is a Disney After Dark segment showing clips of people livin' it up to the sounds of Louis Armstrong...

This is exactly right. This is also the THIRD summer with as many night parties over the past couple of years at DCA. It's time for people to just go enjoy the other 98% of the parks if they don't like the parties. In other words... Get over it.

I may or may not have shook my tailfeather at a little placed called Videopolis, right outside of the Videopolis Railroad Station back in the 1980's.

              1. Disney parks are known for having nighttime dance parties.
              2. A nightclub perfectly fits the theme of Hollywood Land, considering Hollywood is known for nightclubs.
              3. It's called Mad T Party. Mad Tea Party is a spinning ride in Fantasyland.

not gonna lie, for me the difference is more what music is played, if it were swing I'd have no problem with it, but with it being nightclub/rave music and a rave atmosphere, at least don't have it next to 1 of the 2 dark rides in the whole dang park... I want to enjoy Monsters Inc, not some creepy rave, plus, the characters just look weird lol... Oh, and I swear to Walt Disney that if I hear Call Me Maybe walking through that area at night in september, Tom Staggs' head may have to roll

It's certainly not for everyone, I'll give you that. I love it, though.

It's a mixed bag for me. While I love bands and live music so much more than a DJ with all the dubstep flavored stuff the setlist is WAY to shallow. They need original tunes(with a Disneyish flavor), I know they have talented people that can create them for the band.

Last time I went they were checking ID's only for those guests buying alcohol - not to find out where you come from.

It is a crying shame that they didn't go with something closer to the era depicted on BVS. I know my family and most of our friends (all locals ) would come for something like that quite often. As with the other parties, this one makes us avoid this area of the park when the music starts up.

Its not just for the locals anymore , I think that it is great that Disney is doing this, Consider it an added attraction.

Definitely. We're 500 miles away and love the night parties. It's always our first stop when we return to the DLR after our afternoon break / dinner. Though, as AP holders who spend anywhere from 20-25 days a year at the DLR, I guess you could probably consider us quasi-locals.

To be fair, the MI ride entrance is right next to the stage and you'd have to know how to detour around it to get there easily during the show.

To be critical, the Mad T set list never seems to change and even though I've only seen it a few times I feel like I've already "seen it" and would much rather go to Tomorrowland Terrace and see the bands over there, since the TLT bands vary their setlists from night to night.

But, to be fair, the Mad T "band" is actually a rotating cast performing a scripted theme park stage show with a band format and the TLT bands are real bands hired for the night and accustomed to providing variety for the audience's (and probably their own) enjoyment. Does DL provide input into setlists for TLT bands, or is it up to them to provide appropriate setlists to ensure their being asked back?
